Addy showing she can jump.
For some reason the tweet won't show up, but it was of Addy reaching the rim.

Adlee Blacklock retweeted this; hopefully a sign there's a relationship there.

Adlee Blacklock retweeted this; hopefully a sign there's a relationship there. I just noticed that Addy and Adlee both have “Team Lex” in their social media bios. Maybe this was already mentioned, but I didn’t realize they could be playing for the same club team! What a great way for them to develop a relationship that hopefully results in Addy joining her sister for a year.

Beaverfever148, Ya got me curious, Addy is on 16U Team Lex Nation, Adidas 3SSB Team Adlee was on 17U Team Lex Breeze last summer. Yeah, close enough, they have to be gaining some bonding via that and OSU, Kennedy, etc. ! The Texas pipeline, woohoo !

Amari Whiting had 37 points in what appeared to be a big win for her and her team:

This was a tournament state record as well. Quite a game for Amari. Hope her and her good friend Timea decide they want to play for the Beavs.

I love the blurb about Amari hitting a buzzer beater and then blowing a kiss to the opposing team’s student section because they had been chanting “overrated”- feisty!

I saw that she has offers from Utah and Utah St. Does anyone know of Oregon State is recruiting her? She doesn't show up in the player rankings (at least I haven't found her).

Yes, Oregon State appears to be recruiting her heavily. Rankings are a little bit iffy at this point because of how limited games were last summer. Olson, who previously covered espnW HoopGurlz, wrote this about her in 2019: "Quick floor-leader with a scorer's mentality; smooth off the dribble, displays mid-range game with feathery touch, drains shots beyond the arc; weaves through the defense, finishes plays in traffic." She is also a good defender. Not sure what 2023 will look like if we take a bigger 2022 class.

At the end of next season, Aleah, Ellie, Subasic, and Aquino will all be gone for sure. So, in the fall of 2022, the returners will be Taya (maybe), Simmons, Jones, Brown, Sasha, Savannah, Jelena, Talia, and Greta. That's only 9 players (not counting Noelle). We have, right now, 2 coming in (Adlee and Raegan) that year, and 2 leaving after that season (Taya and Jasmine). Any graduate transfer who comes in will be gone.
So, heading into 2023, we have 9 plus any undergraduate transfers and/or other recruits we might add. So there is going to be plenty of room for 2023 recruits, regardless of what we do further in 2022. Numbers wise, we are in much better shape to recruit than many of our competitors.

Wondering if the beavs would be interested in 6’6 post Maggie Mendelson. She plays on the same high school team as Timea Gardiner and is extremely mobile in transition. The only downside is that she seems to be wanting to play volleyball in college as well. Don’t know if she’d be interested in our volleyball program or if Scott would want a multi-sport college athlete.
I’m surprised we don’t appear to be looking at more low-post options this recruiting cycle. We could definitely use another once Kennedy and Taylor are done at OSU.

One thing I have been following more lately is social media "likes". I found it encouraging last Friday the Amari Whiting's Dad 'liked" the OSU WBB post of Aleah's 50ft shot, and then also in the last few days he liked one of SR's 'we are family' post. I guess you would still call this the 'early going' for 2023 recruits, but so far Amari appears to me a major target for the 2023 class. I'll be very interested in watching this recruitment. Also, Amari and Timea appear to be close friends, so landing Timea may be a major benefit for landing Amari as well.
