Stanford has signed a recruit listed as a point guard every year for 7 years in a row and counting - seems to have worked pretty well for them. In order, starting in 2015, they are: Marta Sniezek Anna Wilson Kianna Williams Jenna Brown Hannah Jump Jana Von Gytenbeck Jzaniya Harriel In hindsight, almost none of those players are actual PGs. Sniezek is probably the only true PG until Van Gytenbeek. Well, maybe in a year or two, you'll be saying the same about Whiting - in hindsight.

Can I ask you why she was one of your favorite players of 2023? She does remind me of Hailey Van Lith for some reason. How did Van Lith work out? I am not even sure where she went or how well she did. Btw, they also have that USC guard She's at Louisville. Solid Fr. year, averaged around 11 ppg. Started every game. Turned out to be a better 3 point shooter and rebounder than anticipated. At times their entire offense was dependent on now departed Dana Evans. HVL might have the opportunity to really make it her team this season. Thanks, just remembered she had a motor and was very aggressive in the way she plays the game.

Could one of you please post who the Beavs might actually be pursuing at this point in the cycle? This is a long thread and lots has changed, it'd be great if someone could summarize who might be in mix. Thanks in advance.

A short list and the schools in the mix for these same 2023 recruits. Anyone up to the task?

Go Beavs. No problem. I would add that there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of interest in the last three (Brown, Hunter, and Anderson) at this point in time. Hard to tell where things stand with Kitts, but Scott made a trip down to Florida to see her a month or so ago, so there definitely seems to be some interest. Not sure how interested she is in coming back to the PNW [she's originally from WA].

Jump nor Harriel are Point Guards. They were listed as such by Hoopgulz; that's all I'm saying. Maybe Whiting will play exactly 6 minutes at the point throughout her college career.

When you mention interest levels, do you mean the coaching staff’s level of interest in the player, or the level of mutual interest? Thanks in advance!

For 2023, I count that we already will have 13 roster players assuming Andrea and Taya return? Makes for a small recruiting class in 2023.

Usually coaching staff, but it's always hard to tell. Mostly just based off of social media stuff. Right now it seems like Bell, Muse, and Kitts are the primary targets in 2023.

You can see why the Beavs are interested. Her length reminds me of Sasha, but looks like she may be a better ball handler and perhaps a better shooter. Definitely one to keep an eye on her recruitment.

Watching some video of Bell and I was impressed with the smoothness/quickness of the catch and release on her shots. Also she plays with Cunningham on a UUA team and has plenty of practice lobbing passes inside. Something OSU guards perennially seem to have problems with.
