You can tell how old someone is when they think following social media is "stalking" LOL I'll mark you down in the weirdo column, got it bro. Let me be sue I understand this, Justjay. Millions of people spend hours every week using social media as a means of broadcasting their day to day activities to the world at large and communicating with untold numbers of people, the more the merrier. People religiously follow the activities of the lady several doors down, because, presumably, they're really, really interested in the photo of her and her sorority sister who bumped into her at Safeway, or it's just fascinating to see a selfie of her in the boarding area at PDX on her way to Bismarck, North Dakota. This is normal, rational behavior. But if an older male with a very big interest in women's basketball (but not necessarily much, if any, interest in the boarding areas at PDX) follows what a player posts (of her own volition because she wants as many people as possible to read it) relevant to her journey through the recruiting process, that is stalking and he's a weirdo? Is that pretty much right?

I'm guilty. I've been stalking high school basketball players since the Ralph Miller days. I used to get Van Coleman's All Star sports recruiting reports mailed to me on a regular basis, call an 800 number to listen to Bob Gibbons recruiting reports (and pay a horrible amount of money for that), and talk to local radio personalities just to get a hint of what players around the country were considering Ralph Miller's program.
Now, some of these weirdo girls basketball players are following me on social media. They are horrible stalkers and I shouldn't put up with it!
Now, can we get back to recruiting?

We get great recruiting info from you guys, and it isn’t weird. I appreciate the info.

Deven Hunter was at St. John’s College High School in Washington D.C., presumably for Delaney Thomas, a 6-2 forward ranked #25.

Coach Rueck was watching Chloe Kitts this past week:
She looks to have some nice length and athleticism:
She's originally from Washington.

"A few posters have mentioned Sofia Bell from Portland as a viable big-time prospect.....I'd be curious to know if the Beavs have her pegged as a top prospect....Anyone been following her?” I can’t say with 100% certainty that the coaching staff has pegged her as a top prospect, but there definitely are factors that point to it. On Twitter, Scott Rueck seems to only follow athletes that he is seriously interested in or ones that already have an offer from OSU. The whole coaching staff (Scott, Jonas, Jenny and Deven) are all currently following Sofia on Twitter, and there seems to be a mutual interest. Since her scholarship offers are not publicized on social media, she may currently have an offer from the Beavs and we just don’t know about it yet. Sofia certainly is a top prospect though, as she recently helped her Cal Stars team win a national championship and is ranked #28 overall on ESPN for the class of 2023. Looks like Sofia Bell was at tsdtr game with Breya Cunnigham this past week

Probably because the Beavs were 1,000 miles down the road beating the snot out of USC, and there was no alternative for her.

Looking at the list of schools, I'm guessing academics are a big factor; hope she's hooked on Oceanography. Always nice to see us make a top 6 list and the Ducks don't.

If you haven't noticed, Washington seems to be involved with many of the same players as the Beavs. I'll be surprised if they don't make a significant move under Tina Langley. It's going to be tough for everybody though as it looks like there are five teams (Stanford, Arizona, UCLA, oregon, OSU) that only look to be getting stronger.
I think grabbing players from the state of Washington will be a challenge in years to come. It's good the Beavs have expanded their recruiting nationally in recent years.

There are those who are open to being recruited 'nationally' and there are those who were always going to stay close to home, like, say, Kemery Martin at Utah. Those who want to stay close haven't had too many good options in Washington in recent years, but a top program at Oregon State wasn't too far away. Agree, however, that they won't dismiss Washington out of hand now.

Great news that we are in the running for a top post prospect in the class of 2023. Maybe Amanda will be able to join Cal Stars teammate, Sofia Bell, on a visit to Corvallis!

Nunu Agara, the #39 prospect in the class of 2023 commits to Stanford and Colorado lands 2023 point guard Kennedy Sanders. Both players are from Minnesota. I hope we hear some early news on the Beavs 2023 class. Landing Adlee early for the 2022 class was good news the Beavs were getting the player(s) they wanted.
