It's not "riches" if those are your starting 4 and 5. OSU is in trouble and the incoming class is worse than the last class of non contributors. From the tape I see and trying to extrapolate to Pac12 type play, there are players better than any progress PM will make. She is very weak, slender, and maybe as slow of foot as what just graduated. MW is a energizer sub/part time starter at most for a top level Pac12 team.
If a top 3 in the Pac12 is going to happen... the incoming class best be ready to contribute far far more than last years frosh.
I also disagree that PM is as slow and weak as you say. Yes she looked lost and slow at the beginning of the season, but she was playing much faster by the end. She was bringing down rebounds with authority and making crisp outlet passes by the end of the year. And was showing the ability to finish around the basket. That, from a player that was a clear project coming in. Kind of like a few other players Rueck has coached. I think you are discounting what Scott and his staff can do with a player like PM. Nobody saw coming what Gulich did as a senior. Ruth was as big a project as a frosh, if not more than PM. Don't count Patricia out just yet.
At any rate, I agree with 2ndGen and WBB Fan, that with the options Rueck has going in to next year that the rotation at the 4 and 5 will likely be settled by the time conference play starts. The point I was trying to illustrate was that there are about 50 different possible starting line-ups next year. We are pretty much set at the 1 and 2, but I could see Rueck using a number of players at the 3, 4 and 5 depending on the situation. For instance, I think Maddie would be more effective at the 4 than the 5. She has a nice mid-range game, and could crash the boards from the weak side. She had to play the 5 this year because of how limited we were there. That will not be a problem next year.
With AA hopefully coming on board, and the incoming class I do believe we will be living with "riches" relative to last year, and frankly probably unlike any other time in the history of this program.
