Is back for one more year. So are Princess Mik and Duchess Destiny. What’s your point? Our coach Lord Farquaad is also back.

Good. Another chance to hand her defeat again.

As much as I don't like her game and her "flop", I admire her desire to redeem her team for a game that was VERY winnable and to delay her approx. $50 WNBA salary. Go Beavs!

I understand prominent pro ballers like Steph and Kobe have drawn attention to SI's game..... There was a somewhat self-indulgent (and for me TL;DR) letter from SI to 'uck nation that drew attention to the Kobe analysis.
Is this Kobe and Steph trying to draw attention to the women's game in general? To admire a perhaps generational player in particular? Or players trying to stay in the spot light by leveraging currently hyped players? Or did NikeU call in a favor with NBA folks with Nike ties since this is an area unregulated by the NCAA?
I was a little surprised in the Baylor - 'ucks game how fawning the announcers were of the fact SI was staring down and giving her opponents the "stank eye" (whatever that is). While I hope young ladies everywhere try to emulate all the amazingly talented basketball skills SI has, I hope they don't emulate the flopping and "competitive" stuff that just seems a bit boorish (and [to me, sadly] very visible among some of the NBA greats).....I guess SI is truly getting ready to go pro......
Go Beavers!

Like it or not, I's decision to return greatly reduces Rueck's chances of winning another PAC Championship next year....
Oregon returns a team loaded with more talent than any Women's PAC-12 team I can remember... They are likely a top 3 pick when the season begins....Maybe #1. Personally, I thought they'd be beatable without I and Carzola (sp?) next year.... Ionescu's return is going to make things mighty tough for the Beavs (and everyone else) next season..... Dislike her all you want - she is the best player in the West by a distance.
I was really hoping she'd go pro..... GO BEAVS !!

Yeah - Forced Triple Doubles are really great for the TEAM concept. I will give her some kudos for her final triple double . Shot 25% from the floor, Went 0-7 in last quarter, Had almost as many turnovers as she had assists. Pretty simple coaching assignment ... Don't understand why more teams do not attack the same way - at least the taller, athletic teams. Shut down ruthys weak moves under the hoop and don't allow the flopper to penetrate or set up. She is coming back for a year because she lost a lot of WNBA value based on this game. I also think Graves was hopeless in explaining his teams failures. He goes off on the fact that he didn't need to catch them anymore , they know what to do. Apparently not..................shifting the blame from his coaching style which is based on building up one player at the expense of all others. Yes, they still may be good next year , but so will the whole PAC 12. Suck it Campbell !

Flopsy Mopsy's decision to return for her senior year is not surprising to me. In my opinion, her ego would not let her go from an all-eyes-me situation in collegiate WBB to a one-among-several-good-players in the WMBA, first pick or not.
And yes, the announcers often pick a player to wet themselves over when they are talking about him or her. This happened with several NBA players to the point to where I wouldn't watch the game so I didn't have to listen to the announcers get so excited they were on the verge of an orgasm.

Really distracts from the fact that it is a team sport.

I've watched basketball a long time and can't remember many games in which one player missed 18 shots. Pete Maravich probably did but he was jacking 30-40 shots a game, not only 24. Maybe Jamie Redd for UW, she really shot a lot.
She shot 4-19 vs. UCLA and 10-26 vs. Stanford at the Pac-12 tournament. She was 9-25 vs. us at Gill, and 6-24 vs. Baylor.
She's an excellent player who still hasn't totally embraced the team concept - despite a misleadingly high number of assists - especially in big games, when she often tries to do everything by herself. And she is a serial flopper.
