Interesting development as the season went was our 3 pt oriented offense. Through preseason and early conference, OSU was at the top of D-1 teams in terms of 3 pt shooting percentage—around 43% or so. Over the last 10 games, 28% from 3. So they’ve gone to a poor shooting team. I’m curious what the factors are there?

After playing out of their minds to beat the ducks (injury ridden or not), I guess they decided that was enough for the year.
Very disappointing. But still have a lot to play for, if Aleah can get her game back, this should be sweet 16/elite 8 easily. Pivec will be Pivec, you can put a blindfold on her for the game and she will still make shots. Destiny is an adventure on the court. Jo will do her job if they pass her the ball. Corosdale is back on track it seems like. And Katie can play, she did against the ducks, she just has to get that anger back again.

Couple of other thoughts: - Kudos to UW. Coach Jodi sure is a tournament coach - she has them playing out of their minds (and of course I expect them to come crashing back to earth tomorrow night, but the damage is done). - We sort of peaked during the tough weekend - with uo/UCLA/USC, but we have been playing with fire for a while and have had difficulty closing out teams....I was out of the country during the USC game, just watched it the other night, and it wasn't a great game for us either, though the result was. - I wonder if the sight lines of this arena were affecting Aleah. I don't know if we will ever see a 0-10 outing from her again. Some times I think close games in "new" venues favor the team that has spent more time on the odd floor. - We squandered really good outings from Mik and Taya, who both came to play. Hopefully Taya can bottle her double-double form and produce it consistently, haven't seen it in a while. - That said, our offense was not flowing through Taya (1 assist), Destiny (2 assists) or Aleah (2 assists), and perhaps not flowing at all. But when Destiny isn't dishing and Taya isn't making the high-low work, we aren't that good of a team. - KTMac just doesn't have the "get out of my way while I go get mine" gene, even as a senior. Perhaps that was wise on a 1-6 night, but I would have liked to have seen her drive a bit more and even take some more outside shots that she was passing up...... - Jo was having an off night as well - I was wondering if there would be a "two steps forward / one step back" night in her progression, and we saw it tonight. - Interesting night from a coaching standpoint - most nights SR sits on TOs, tonight he was spending them seemingly like a drunken sailor.....I also think we should have been fouling for profit starting about the 1:30 mark, but I'm no coach. - Interesting season from a coaching standpoint. It seems like Janessa has been ready to go for a few games, but we haven't tapped into her energy since her injury (and maybe the game situations haven't allowed it). There is, of course, the "should PM have gotten more minutes?" debate that also could be revisited. - True "test of character" moment ahead for this team - regardless of tournament site, we will either go out with a whimper or a bang after this development, and I will gear up to watch - weird things happen in March, so I am not predicting Ls or Ws, but I do think this could help us re-focus.
Well, this one is in the books. The sun will still come up tomorrow, just wondering if on Monday it reveals a top-16 seed for us or not......
Go Beavers!

That was a embarrassing second half of basketball.

I thought that particularly in the second half there was a lot of just passing it around the outside and then shooting a late 3, much of that was due to their zone. I would have liked to see more penetration and kicking or pulling up from both Mik and Destiny. Last night was not Jo’s best game. She dared their post to hit the 3, and she did hit quite a few. She also wasn’t finishing well and missed a key easy shot at the end. Katie was Katie - a no show offensively except for some totally off attempts from behind the arc. I have come to not excpect anything else from her. Aleah obviously was very tense and aggravated at herself.

I thought we went 3-1 after beating Oregon. That doesn't sound like packing it in.
We'll still host, and win two. Sweet 16 would be an accomplishment for this team.
I'd rather continue to overachieve in the NCAAs than underachieve in a meaningless conference tournament.
Some people seriously need to get a grip.

I should have said "just wondering if on *Selection* Monday....." since the sun likely won't be out this coming Monday in the Pacific Northwet anyway :-). Go Beavers!

Two starters that have no offense needs to be fixed. Man I miss Tudor it's like everyone is one position/responsibility off with her out. You can just see destiny push too hard to try and make up for it.

Some people seriously need to get a grip. Remember this one? And this was after playing in the Championship game of that "meaningless conference tournament" in 2017. Got extremely, extremely fortunate to pull that NCAA first round game one out, at the end.
And an NCAA game from two years ago is apropos of what, when the discussion is centered on the conference tournament? That team, which was essentially Syd Wiese, also overachieved and made the Sweet 16. Conference tournaments are meaningless. I wish they'd get rid of all of them. Thirty regular-season games is a far more accurate barometer than one, two or three games in March.

I totally agree, conference tournaments are ridiculous in all sports.

We lost to ASU in the opening round of the 2018 Pac-12 tournament. I suppose that wasn't the way we wanted to finish going into the NCAA tournament, but then we won three road games. I'll trust the coaches and players and remain optimistic. Other's mileage may vary.

I think we've had a very respectable season. It's not over, and I hope BIG TIME that they earn the opportunity to host. There are lots of ways to look back and go through the what if drills. I suspect the coaching staff and the players are all working hard to set a course for continued success. Go Beavs.
