OSU is going to be stacked with talent next season. It looks like Gardiner and Beers basically replace Mack and Subasic on the roster, which is potentially a huge upgrade (over a 4 year period). Likewise, Blacklock and Hansford are basically replacing Codding and Adams, which could also be upgrades. To me what is missing from this great recruiting class is a point guard to backup Von Oelhoffen. Interesting that Rueck mentions that both Blacklock and Hansford have played some point guard in their careers, so maybe he intends one of them to play this role. Or maybe he plans on using Kampschroeder to play some reserve PG. Otherwise, he needs to pick up a PG from the transfer portal IMO.

It's an annual thing with us; we always need a point guard. Maybe 2023 is the year for that?
Meanwhile, this is an excellent, excellent class, and that's 2 in a row. We'll have 8 underclassmen next year who will be the nucleus of a very good team for the next 3 years. Should be most enjoyable.

And possibly Taya back again to finish her education and be a senior leader. Next year could possibly be a great team but the team we have right now is pretty good too. I'm really excited to see how far this group can go. I really hope we can get that damn injury bug off our back.

Next year will see our strongest team ever. The big question though is whether Taya will choose to come back. That would be her sixth year in the program. Gardiner is her heir-apparent for the future. Beers will be a tremendous add to the program. Her size and mobility inside will frustrate even much taller players. Both Blacklock and Hanford are fundamentally shooting guards (2), although Lily can also play the wing (3). Neither of their games are particularly suited to being point guards. Similarly, both Greta and AJ are better suited as 2s or 3s. So, yes, with Tea’s departure we need a backup PG next year for Talia. The good thing is that the portal will undoubtably be loaded.

I get the hype, but as of now that's all it is... recruiting/press clippings and very limited D1 experience to base anything on. Until a team reaches multiple levels of success, Pac12 conference/tourney titles, and a F4 appearance they are just talented and mostly on paper. Recruits are just that, never stepped on a D1 floor, nor played night in and night out vs Pac12 competition. It's a huge step for even the highest of recruits to step on the court against veterans of Pac12 play. Plus OSU will be relatively young next season. So, next season is a long ways off, and that team may have the most "star" power according to recruiting services, but until they actually play and perform at the level of several other OSU WBB teams they are far from this programs "strongest" as the bar has been set pretty high.

One thing that does seem to be obvious is that the PAC 12i is the power conference in WBB… Whether it demonstrates and holds that power , remains to be seen ( on the court ) . I am pretty sure Stanford will be there

The PAC 12 has been the dominant conference in women's hoops for several years, and the odds of that not continuing are pretty slim.
Some conferences have 1, maybe 2, teams that can normally be counted on to make a pretty good run in the tournament, and they also have others who are one and done. In the last 5 NCAA tournaments, the PAC 12 has put 9 of the 12conference teams in the tournament, and they've gone 28-2 in the first round and 21-7 in the second. I don't think any other conference comes remotely close.
And I just can't envision that not continuing this year.

They've been doing what they have in recent years without cleaning up in recruiting. Now getting more of the elite talent that used to go to the SEC or ACC certainly isn't going to hurt anything.

Unless something changed that I don't know about, Kiki Rice committed to UCLA, and I assume she signed. UCLA had the #1 class with her.

ProspectsNation will no longer put out any rankings outside of the top-25 -- will instead introduce the Elite 150. Raegan and Timea are both in the top-25, and Lily is among their Elite 150. Also worth noting that Coach Holsinger was able to land two Elite 150 prospects in his first year at Montana. prospectsnation.com/players/e150/2022
