...are getting an excellent ‘read’ on their status pre-PAC 12 season. Stanford just beat a top 10 team tonight for the second time in a week (TN, on the road). SI and squad play the #4 ranked team in about 1-1/2 hours in spewgene. This all contributes to a final flurry of anticipation for the impending conference season.
It’s sort of hard to imagine that the Beavs will be as well prepared as those squads, for January/February. That said: Go Beavs!....Rueck, work your magic!

I really wish the Pac-12 refs would do more to protect SI. She only had 17 free throws, she should be getting 20-25 per game.

Yes, she's a flopper. Must have learned that from Dillon Brooks.

Guess who will be coaching them for their 2 remaining OOC games this week while Graves sits out due to NCAA sanctions? Mark Campbell...

Ionescu is basically Sydney Weise in a duck uniform, they both command that free throw line whenever they want. And that's because every player falls for their bait. Now, I think we match up so much better against them, than the rankings suggest. It will be tough but I think our girls are tougher, and much much better coached. They lucked out with a win against MSU from some home cooking, and we will get the same treatment when play them. I don't think they play as good, or smooth as their ranking, the offense has held up at the right time in these games. Might not be the same when P12 and NCAA start.

The duck women were exposed earlier at Michigan State. Why Mississippi State did not utilize their obvious physical mis-matches is a mystery to me. Michigan State was very physical and really took it to them, did not back down. They dominated the boards on both ends and just kept pounding it down inside. They got physical with both SI and Hebard and it took them both out of their games. Ionescu needs to hit the floor a couple of times, but not as the result of a flop. She does not play tough defense, to avoid picking up fouls, so if we can take it right to her, she will step aside.
Do we have the toughness to execute this style of play against them? I don't know, but I would love to see SR execute this type of game plan.

MSU star post player was averaging a double-double before playing Oregon. She had 5 points in the game due to the defensive scheme. Ruthy Hebard had 14 points on 7 of 10 from the field - not sure that line indicates she was "taken out of her game". Ionescu had 29 points - I hope every team takes Sabrina out of her game like that. "Ionescu needs to hit the floor a couple of times ..." How exactly do you accomplish this legally in a game without committing a foul?

HA, you don't, we have fouls to give for your prima donna, who gets and Emmy for her continued flopping, and gets away with hacking on a grand scale .

Think you might be watching different player - Ionescu receives a lot of hard contact in just about every game and certainly when she drives to basket. Comment from blastingsand comparing her to Wiese fordrawing contact from defenders is pretty accurate. Mike

If you read my post carefully, you will see I was talking about Michigan State, not Mississippi State. Big difference in those two games and outcomes.
Ducks showed they were very vulnerable to a physical style of play. I count we have 15 fouls to give in the middle. Let's get our money's worth.
