The Blazers thought they needed Sam Bowie more than Michael Jordan, and, Greg Oden more than Kevin Durant. Did you watch her video. She is a special basketball player I can't get over that they made the EXACT same mistake twice, 2 of the worst draft day decisions ever, in any sport. I seem to remember some pretty good ball players drafted after LaRue Martin too.

Sika Kone is a very talented power forward from Mali (one of the best at U19 last season). Not sure how much interest OSU has in her (Holsinger follows her on social media), or if she is considering playing in college.
There are a lot of international players followed by coaches, but no way to know which ones are legit interest.

Yeah, that was a bit before my time, but I think my Dad mentioned a few times that being a really bad pick.

Your latest favorite point guard hopeful committed to Georgia. /photo/1 No longer my favorite .... 😊 Kimora announced her final four a few days after the Beavs received Talia's commintment, and then she chose Georgia. I'm guessing the Beavs told her they were not going to offer (her 10 offers did not list the Beavs), or Kimora decided she may not get playing time behind Talia. Personally, I would really like to see another point guard signed for 2021 (and 2020 for that matter). I don't see any indications right now that the Beavs are looking for another guard in this 2021 class, although they are following a few international guards on social media, which leads me to believe they are very confident in the foursome of Talia, Greta, Sasha, and Savannah and their abiltiy to handle the ball, or that the Beavs may look for a grad transfer next season to fill in during 2021. I'm hoping they pick up at least one more 2021 player though.

This is way off track (sorry), but think you might find interesting. The Warriors were once owned by a guy named Franklin Mieuli, who considered himself a pretty astute basketball mind, and spent several years proving to the world at large that he wasn't. Franklin insisted that the Warriors pick a kid named Cyril Baptiste in the NBA 'hardship' draft. All went well until the first day of practice when Cyril took ill after an hour or so, and was excused for the rest of the day. When the players went back to the locker room at lunchtime, they all discovered their cash and credit cards had been stolen. Cyril's illness was withdrawal symptoms from his $100 a day heroin habit, and the theft was, of course, to allow him to get a fix or two. Franklin also thought that Zelmo Beaty was the premier player of his day, and he wanted to get him. The (then) New Orleans Jazz owned the NBA rights to Zelmo, but he had just signed a 5 year contract with the Utah Stars of the ABA. Undaunted, Franklin gave the Jazz his first round draft pick for the rights to negotiate for Zelmo, and a player to be named later if the Warriors ever signed him. Zelmo played his 5 years in the ABA. The first round pick given to the Jazz for the negotiating rights turned out to be Pete Maravich. Five years later, when Zelmo was over the hill, Franklin finally signed him. The Jazz then immediately exercised their right to a player to be named later, and took Franklin's starting power forward (name escapes me, but he was a pretty fair player). Portland not the only team capable of screwing up first round picks - Donald Sterling's Clippers were masters of the genre.

The beauty of picking LaRue Martin is that it kept Portland horrible. So two or three years later they had the #1 pick again and used it on Bill Walton. There was only a span of about 150 games where he was healthy, but for that time BW was an all time great and Portland was the best team in the world.

Katie F and 6' 5" Tatiana Popa just started following each other on twitter. Tatiana is an interesting recruit from the East Coast. Her Dad is 7'3" and played for U of Miami. Her brother is 6'10". Tatiana has a little sister that is a 2023 recruit.
Tatiana has a ton of small school offers from all over the country. Out west, Hawaii, San Jose State, Cal State Bakerfield, Texas Tech would be among those who have offered. She is getting some interest from power 5 schools, Oklahoma, Wisconsin, and UCLA to name a few.
I've watched a bit of her video, and she doesn't look to be ready for the Pac12 yet, but she does show some promise.
There isn't much news on who, if anyone, the Beavs may be still be looking at for 2021, so seeing a name pop up is always interesting.

Is OSU recruiting her? Stanford, UCLA, UConn, Baylor, and Oregon appear to be her main suitors.

I hope you guys are right. Okikola Iriafen would be the perfect recruit to go along with Talia and Greta. She's a great player.
The Beavs do a good job of keeping their recruiting process quiet, but I haven't seen any hints of mutual interest between her and the Beavs. About the only names you see associated with her, are the ones beaverwbb mentioned.
I hope you are right though. She would be a great addition. Make it happen!!!

Its referenced on one of the re recruiting discussions concerning Talia when she commited. Someone asked are we done for 2021 and a poster discussed the young lady in your posting.
