I read ProsoectsNation as my go to service for Wbb recruiting. It's hard to get visitation info sometimes for osu. The two junior twins(Wirth) at Gonzaga visited osu inApril 2015(I met them) as did a 6-2 girl from LaJolla California who untimately when to Cal. Hope we get a couple of the really good players that can keep us playing at a high level. Pivec' s starting spot will be open for the class of 2020 recruits.

She sure will be. Posted it in her instagram story as well. Potentially watching Caitlin Clark and Greta Kampschroeder’s Iowa Attack team. Not sure what other recruits.

I don't follow Twitter or Instagram, but I'm glad others do and pass on interesting info...
Question: Why is KF the only name I seem to hear about on the OSU recruiting circuit? Is it just me? Or do other coaches simply not announce their activities as openly as KF? Or, does KF simply do the lion's share of recruiting?
No big deal, really. More of a curiosity question than anything.... It would be interesting to learn from someone who knows if Katie is our main recruiter, or if recruiting assignments are spread equally throughout the staff...Or, if she is just the most productive...
I rarely hear another coaches name when recruits are the topic..... GO BEAVS !!

I think Chatterton and Holsinger keep it more lowkey.

I think Chatterton and Holsinger keep it more lowkey. I think you are correct. I have heard their names mentioned from many recruits in the past. Part of it could also be because KB works with the post players and those have been the ones in the forefront the last couple years, but I'm just guessing here.

If I'm not mistaken there are 32 teams of under 16yr olds, and 32 teams of teams under 17, so you will find a lot of recruits for the years of 2020 through the year of 2022, so I'm sure Katie is watching a wide variety of games. You can find all the teams, team members, live stats, and more here. nikegirlseybl.com/live-stats

Katie F started following two new players on twitter today. One is Morasha Wiggins a 2021 6ft guard from Michigan. The other is Maddie Scheer, 2020 combo guard from Kentucky who is a 2020 grad. She is rated by ESPN as the number 25 player in the class. JC and BH were already following Maddie. Maddie took unofficial visits to UCLA and Oregon (among many other places last fall), but no sign that she visited OSU. She is what I would consider an OSU culture type of player, and she is very good. It will be interesting to see if the Beavs continue to show interest, and if that interest is mutual.

Not only 2020, but a few players Katie and co. were likely watching:
Tree of Hope: Dalayah Daniels and Hailey Van Lith. Colorado Premier: Lauren Betts and Addison O'Grady. Cal : Jennah Isai and Taylor Bigby. All Iowa Attack: Caitlin Clark.

It looks like the Beavs are recruiting only top of the line, premiere players.....Taylor Bigby, out of perennial powerhouse Centennial High, was recently voted Nevada POY. Maddie Scheer, who rmancarl referred to above, was recently voted Kentucky POY...At this stage of their careers it is hard to receive higher recognition.
Interesting to me is that the Beavs seem not to have found a single player from California to pursue....At least none that have been brought to our attention.. That is where the talent is for West Coast schools. Not sure what to make of it - perhaps nothing at all..... GO BEAVS !!

Seems like ( actually is ), a fact that this staff keeps everything close to the vest. Thus, can't really see or understand the big picture. Bothers the fans a little, but, ''in Scott we trust'. California is not only a hotbed for athletes, but the competition for those athletes is assuredly a high focus area for recruiters from all over the Country. So, maybe we should be grateful for the posters that bring us the only 'insider like' information that is available. I am hoping that Scott, etc all, has - or can, get exactly who they want because they can select the 'right' talent and develop that talent like no other program - no matter how many stars they do, or do not have beside their name. My only wish, and it seems like it is being addressed, is a much more aggressive defense, at least available in tight games down the stretch. Many teams seem to think they can bully us and that we will not respond, except on the offensive end. I would like to see Gabby Hansen intensity on every defensive set.

If they are foreign players, that adds another complication about getting info about potential visitors to campus. Who knew about Marie Guliich?

Checking both recruiting sites, it doesn't seem that California has a disproportionate amount of talent. I looked on both Hoopgurlz and Prospect Nation at the top 100 for 2018 and 2019, the top 60 for 2020, and the top 25 for 2021.
Of the 285 listed, Hoopgurlz had 18 from California and Prospect Nation had 23. That's 6.3% and 8.1% respectively, but the state has about 12% of the nation's population. For top tier recruits, it is, if anything, underrepresented.

If they are foreign players, that adds another complication about getting info about potential visitors to campus. Who knew about Marie Guliich? Marie was a definite project when she came to OSU. She, with the help of the staff, developed into the player she became. Good coaching a lot of hard work on her part payed off.
