Riiiiigght. If Taya and Aleah weren't here, SR would find "equally adept players" . . . where, exactly? indeed.....Agreed - It’s nonsense to think that Goodman and Corosdale quality HS players are so easy to come by. Hoopgurlz had them at #26 (TC) and #63 (AG) Nationally. I sure as heck wouldn’t dismiss them as ‘role’ players as they enter the FIfth Week of their Sophomore seasons!

First, let's take you ranking numbers... so what do they mean? Are you saying that TC is the 26th best soph right now? AG the 63rd best? I'd venture to say not... Second, how is stating a either is a "role player" dismissing them? Every great team has them... unless you are the one "game changer" type every player is a "role player" and essential to the TEAM'S success. As much as she is hated/disparaged on this board SI is a "game changer". Folks think/hope DS will be one for OSU. But everyone else is essentially a role player for this squad capable of having huge games in various areas at times, but all dependent on teammates. Whereas a a player like SI needs to carry their team game in and game out. You may define a "role player" differently, obviously negatively, but I do not see it that way. Again, to each their own.

So everyone but Sabrina Ionescu is just a "role-player" to you?! Even the freshman-of-the-year and ESPN top-25 player Destiny Slocum has merely a "hope" of being something other than a role-player.
Ridiculous.

Just saying this: Corosdale & Goodman had VERY GOOD freshman seasons. It's too early to evaluate their 4 year contribution, but by the time they conclude their senior season, they (or at least one of them) might even become a "game changer".
Aleah Led the PAC-12 in 3pt % as a freshman. She accrued the 6th most minutes of P.T. on an Elite-8 squad. Taya STARTED as a freshman on an Elite-8 team. I'll admit that the primary factor in achieving Elite-8 was the play of the brilliant ('game changer') Marie Gulich. But holy heck, having 2 freshman in your first 6 'rotation' during the course of a very successful season is something to celebrate. Hip Hip Hooray! (with sincerity).
Under Rueck, there is is every reason to believe that either TC or AG (or both) can become all-PAC 12 first or second team players, as seniors, 2+ years from now.

Ridiculous. You obviously have zero idea who helped make her frosh of the year. Maryland was loaded with experience, and upper class talent. A Frosh of the year is a great individual award. How'd the frosh and highly favored Terps fair vs inexperienced, non frosh of the year when it counted? Hence as good as you or others may want DS to be Maryland underachieved when it counted most, and she hasn't lead OSU anywhere as of this date. Using an award doesn't change those facts. Let's have a season/career play out before anointing players the "next coming". But, AGAIN... ridiculous is think "to each their own" means folks have to see it your way. But then again "skidmark" it's been your "mo" of late.

I visit this thread just to see if there are any updates on Goforth, Clark, Beuckers, Van Lith, etc. I ignore the rest.

Just some 2020 highlights Caitlin Clark
She is a bigger point guard who has a whole lotta finesse. Handles, shoots, and distributes well. Took an unofficial earlier this year and the coaches were recently in Iowa to see her. Hailey Van LithWell, she's Hailey Van Lith. Same old stuff. Tenacious defender. Solid as a rock. Tough as nails. Scores the ball. Dalayah Daniels (Lay Lay) She is really, really good. Hard to believe she is 6'4" given how well she moves. Oregon and Duke were at a practice recently to see her. With Aquino, Jones, and Brown all playing a similar position to Daniels and just a year ahead, plus the possibility of Mitrovic, she may be a tough get, but I hope we are still recruiting her because she is a rare talent. Seems like she could play the 3 or the 4. Paige Bueckers
She is the #1 2020 for a reason. Shoots, passes, and handles exceptionally well. Very athletic and good height for a PG/CG at 5'11. She is a good one but may be tough to pull away from Notre Dame, UConn, or Minnesota.
