Has anyone purchased tickets for Vancouver Showcase thru OSU ticket office? The lady I spoke to today claims there are none available thru OSU tix office.
Does this sound right? I thought I remember a promo for OSU fans to buy tickets for the Showcase - - It even offered a 20% discount. Any help? Thanks.... GO BEAVS. !!

Sounds right to me. I have no recollection of anything from the ticket office suggesting that they were available through the university. I am going, but got tickets via the Vancouver Showcase site.

bhf - thanks for the info....Maybe it will help some fans who have not as yet bought their tickets... The promo I saw was not from Greg Sempadian, but if it works I hope some Beaver Fans go for it...
I think I saw the 20% discount promo in the recent Rebounder Row newsletter... The tourney is far from a sellout as of Nov. 15 - but the number of available seats is getting smaller every day....
It would be great to get a good turnout from Beaver Nation...There are a lot of OSU Alums in the Seattle-Vancouver area... GO BEAVS !!

The Tweet below referencing the 20% discount for the Vancouver Showcase was posted yesterday on the BeaverWBB Twitter site.

I just spoke with Greg Sempedian on the phone. He was very helpful. Eager to help out Beaver Fans who want tickets.... He also has discount tickets for Pac 12 tourney in Vegas. Sounded like a good deal to me.

There's a new basketball stadium inside the Vancouver Convention Centre (PHOTOS)High-level NCAA basketball tips off this weekend, as a unique event arrives in Vancouver on Sunday, November 18. Nearly three years after the event was first announced, the Vancouver Showcase features top calibre American college basketball in a unique setting. Instead of choosing a conventional basketball arena like Rogers Arena, UBC, or the Langley Events Centre, organizers instead opted for the Vancouver Convention Centre.

Possible future opponent ND plays at #15 DePaul today at 11 PT, for anyone interested. Just FYI. And for anyone going to the Vancouver Showcase on Thursday, be sure to root for fellow NW team Gonzaga against Notre Dame in the first game! depaulbluedemons.com/watch/?Live=61&type=Live

1st round opponent Western Kentucky is off to a rough start this season.. They are now 0 - 4. In fairness, however, they have played a pretty tough schedule. Surprisingly, they have a game scheduled for Tuesday the 20th (at home) then head out to Vancouver for a Thursday night game with the Beavs...
The Beavs will be favoured in this one...Probably by 10 or more...
As of today the Tourney has not captured the imagination of the sports public. Less than half the seats have been sold. The tourney really needs game day fans to show up... Maybe if the Beavs win Thursday there will be an attendance uptick for the Friday - Saturday games... GO BEAVS !!

Yes, WKU is toast given that they are 0-4 and play a game on Tuesday and then have to travel to Vancouver for a game vs OSU on Thursday. We should win by a lot more than 10 points. I hope our starters don't wear out, because SC won't be stressed out by ETSU. Plenty of tickets are still available. Capture or not... not too many people give up family time to travel to a 3-day basketball tourney. If you want big crowds you do not schedule US teams in Canada on Thanksgiving weekend. Teams may have been free, but fans for the most part will not be. However 1500 or so fans at a women's game is about the norm for "foreign" tourneys (hell some of these teams don't see 1500 for a home game), Hawaii can be in the 100's for men's games.

I wanted to travel to Vancouver, but couldn't convince other family members, so I paid $24.95 to watch all 12 games via internet. I believe games will be recorded should you want to watch them later. LOTRADER

In fairness to South Carolina, the fact that they played a very tough opponent (Maryland) should help them a bit. It will definitely help their readiness in playing another tough team. So far, the Beavs haven't been challenged, which I think hurts them a bit.
