She is warming up. No evidence of a knee injury. Sorry for the double post. Won’t seem to let me delete it.

So Aquino is the only one who hasn't played in either game right? 🤔 Nope, there's nothing to it I'm sure. She may redshirt but it doesn't appear to be due to any knee injury. At this point any of the players that haven't already redshirted or transferred could still redshirt.

So Aquino is the only one who hasn't played in either game right? 🤔 Nope, there's nothing to it I'm sure. I asked her after the game if she was playing this year. Her reply to me was, "I'll be back out there soon." I didn't pry for more specifics. Thanks for the post. Finally someone with credibility gives us some information.

I sure hope she is! I think she will play some good minutes for us this year. While she may not be a true center, she or Morris are definitely going to need to be ready to give some minutes. I do know her HS teammate, Lola Pendande, was having a lot of troubles with Utah and I don’t believe she made it to campus. Hopefully it is just something minor that will get worked out soon.
For those there, how did Morris look? and Simmons?

For those there, how did Morris look? and Simmons? Like freshmen. Neither was able to really get involved much - I think they each had one shot. I'd say that both are on track to be contributors this season - Jaz sooner than Trish. But this game didn't tell us much about either.

Im working under the assumption there may be some eligibility questions due to her various transfers. Seems to me something came up earlier this year regarding one of her coaches and a teammate at one of the schools and the teammate lost eligibility and couldn't play at this level despite apparently doing fine academically. Im hoping she wasn't caught up in that as well.

Her Eastside Patterson teammate, Blessing Ejiofor, a native of Nigeria, had a plethora of troubles there. Academically, she qualified for Vanderbilt so clearly it wasn’t an academice issue, but paperwork and Visa issues held her back from attending. The whole scandal there and the way the players were being treated was an absolute wreck.
FWIW, her Ribet teammate, Lola Pendande, had also not qualified at Utah.
Not sure if the issue stems from either of these schools, or if it even deals with overseas issues. Whatever the issue is, I hope it is minor and will be resolved in the near future’

That might be true for the scrimmage last week, but are we sure it's true for the exhibition game? In the men's game, Payton Dastrup didn't play, presumably because he's ineligible this year. I'm not going to hazard a guess what the NCAA rules are, but whatever they are, they are calculated to confuse and frustrate.
On the other hand, usually eligibility news gets out, since it involves the NCAA as well as OSU. And my wife noticed Andrea skipping part of the warm-ups - I didn't see which exercises.

There was some 5-on-5 drill that didn't involve a shot at the basket, but passing around the perimeter and have defenders matching up on folks basically arranged around the arc. While it is true that she sat that drill out, so did one other big? (I want to say it was PM, but I am not sure). I recall thinking "oh, no", but then I rationalized it as "I guess her and <other big> are not expected to match up around the perimeter...... and this is a drill for 10, not 12. I was looking for her non-participation in any warmup / drill that might indicate a tweaked this or a sprained that, but I didn't see her holding back from any other drill on the floor. Go Beavers!

I've read or heard a bunch of speculation about Aquino... let's see, so far
knee/leg injury VISA issues academic issues/high school classes/eligibility --- sounds ruled out mono heart issues/problems (the latest rumor)

I'm sure we could pull some more out of our collective a**es.
I heard she's practicing with the gymnastics team and wants to switch sports.

I heard, on the down low, that she is going to transfer to a school that has horse racing! So she can fulfill her lifelong dream of being a jockey.

She's still looking for the coach. "They told me he's around here somewhere . . . "
