It seems that Kennedy Brown is the last 2019 that we are in the running for. As more and more 2019s list their finalists, I don’t see the Beavs. Rickea Jackson who we were recruiting had no Pac12s in her finalists (she did have Tennessee of course! and Louisville who is in practically 75% of 2019 finalists). Anyone know if there is anyone else? BHF? anyone?! Im not that worried as I think we will have a really special 2020 class Marie's recruiting class in 2014 yielded only 2 players who ever suited up for OSU. Alex Kalmbach (who transferred after one season) and Marie G. I guess you could call that a miss and a hit. Alex was a walk-on.

So it seems that really no one knows a thing about Brea Beal’s recruiting. It has been very under the radar except for a 2016 article that mentions Stanford and Connecticut. Many are saying they would not be surprised if her list is comprised of 5 top academic schools (Stanford, Duke, Michigan, Notre Dame, etc.). Oregon State isn’t of the caliber of those schools, so if that speculation is true we most likely won’t see a top 5 with the beavs.

Brea Beal looks like a VERY special talent... She was State of Illinois MVP as a sophomore and again as a Junior....If she 3-peats it will be a stunning achievement. ND will be tough to escape. They're close. They're impressive. .They're good...Needless to say, she is a top national prospect.
Having said that her film shows a basic weakness in her game: she has no left hand ! She always releases with her right even in traffic, even on the left side of the basket. With her talent this certainly is a fixable problem. But it also shows that her coaches have not trained her to put in the time and work to release left in close.....
I'm not in the know on OSU recruiting by any stretch, but unless Ms. Beal has an unusually meaningful connection with one of our coaches I can't envision her bolting to Oregon. Stanford maybe.
GO BEAVS !!

You may very well be right 411500, but it would surprise me if she doesn't use the left hand. Her Dad started for two years at UTEP under Don Haskins, and you would believe he taught her the importance of playing with both hands. I only watched a tiny bit of her video, but that is shocking if she doesn't use the left hand.

Brea Beal will be releasing her list tomorrow at 2:30. I don’t think we were recruiting that much at all so don’t really expect to see the beavs on it. Although I sure hope we do!

No Beavs for Brea Beal. Duke, Michigan, Illinois, Louisville, and SCarolina. Not sure why every prospect has Louisville on their list. Scott Rueck> Jeff Walz IMO

If Taylor ends up being our only one next year at least she is s really good one to get. I'm still hoping for more though and believe that we are still in the running for Brown.

Isn't Australian Jazmin Shelley the dyno-mite teammate of our JS a 2019 recruit prospect? Aren't we still trying to snag some of the talent Coach B scouted in the recent European tourney?
It seems likely to me that the Beavs are still chasing a few prospects....
GO BEAVS !!

I would definitely be more than content with a 2 player 2019 class of Jazmin Shelley and Taylor Jones, but Kennedy Brown would be a huge plus. Hopefully we can add one of the highly touted point guards we are recruiting (HVL is my first choice) in 2020 along with a big wing who can knock down the three consistently (Sasha Goforth!) Cameron Brink or Dalayah Daniels would also be a great get if Kennedy Brown doesn’t commit. We will only be losing Jo and KtMac and although KtMac will be huge, I feel like Mik, Jazz, Kat, and Aleah are all good guard options.

From my complete lack of true knowledge, I would guess that it would be accurate to say the coaches are still watching some 2019 players, and chasing numerous 2020 players. If they are chasing any 2019 players, it appears to be Kennedy Brown, and perhaps a foreign player or two.
I get the feeling that anyone else in 2019 is not a priority, whereas doing the legwork, and setting themselves up, for 2020 and beyond is a major priority. If any of the Coaches are reading this, they would probably say I am wrong. Perhaps I just get that feel from looking at the roster and knowing SR doesn't use all his available scholarships. With KT and MP having two more years, AG and DS having three more years, and JS having 4 years, I don't see guards/wings as a priority in 2019, but an emphasis in 2020. With 3 more years for TC and 4 years for AA and PM, and now TJ set to come on board next year,(not forgetting MW and JT on the team the next coupe years as well) the team is pretty well set with 'bigs' as well, with the question being AA, PM,and TJ are unproven at this level. For those reasons, if you can get Kennedy, you want that to happen.
With all that in mind, I'm still saddend that Rickea Jackson and Brea Beal didn't have the Beavers in their final list, and that Kemery Martin chose Utah. I'm glad the Beavers are beginning to attract the attention of the very top HS players, but would like to see that attention become more widespread. 2020 is looking good with the Beavers in early on numereous of the top 100 girls, and I think it helps that a number of the top girls in 2020 are from western, or mid-western states.
Maybe I take this too seriously, but I think the teams performance this coming season may be more important than ever in terms of recruiting in 2020 and beyond. Stanford and UCLA will most likely always be tough to recruit against, and the ducks are positioning themselves as well. If the Beavers aren't in the mix to win the Pac12, or if they finish behind someone like an Arizona State, or USC (just examples), recruits could perceive the Beavers as a team going the wrong direction, and may look elsewhere, so (not to put pressuer on the women) let's hope for another big season this year.

I think the most important recruit in 2020 will be a point guard. This will allow us to have a point guard who is given a year to play behind Destiny while learning from her and learning Rueck’s system. I believe we have interest in 4 point guards in the 2020 class so landing any one of them would be huge. With MP and KT being gone by the time a 2020 steps on campus, adding a SG and Wing (Sasha Goforth and Sydney Parrish come to mind) will also be likely a necessity by then. I believe tge Beavs have shown interest in Sydney Parrish (follow her on twitter etc.) but she recently posted a picture with offers and the Beavs were not included ($ucks were). Then a 4 (Brink or Daniels) would probably be a good addition by that time too.
Also: Lexi Duckett whom the Beavs were showing interest does not include Beavs in her top 6.

It has been confirmed on the Boneyard that Louisville and Kennedy Brown have parted ways, giving her a top 5 of Oregon St., Oregon, UCLA, Oklahoma, and Baylor. Very interested to see where this young lady ends up and I sure hope its in Corvallis. I think we have a good shot at getting her in Corvallis on 1 of her 3 OVs.

One summer coach down, must not have liked what she saw. Explains her lack of enthusiasm for her team usa coaches. It would not surprise me to see cc and baby blue bears out next.
I really like our odds, now we just need her to come visit. It appears that coach Rueck, his staff, and players have a way of exuding family. This is one thing all recruits mention. We will continue to get these girls.
To paraphrase the coach, we won't get all the girls we recruit, but we have to get all we can out of the girls we do get. He has shown over and over again that he is able to do just that.

Well, with only two players over 6’2” on their roster, Kennedy may see immediate playing time at UCLA. Cori Close is an extreme underachiever. I may even put her in a similar category to Holly Warlick.
Kennedy has stressed she is going to be a stretch-4 in college. This is basically her way of saying no coach is sticking me on the block for four years. I feel like UO doesn’t immediately need a stretch-4 (Sabally and Boley are kinda stretch-4s but also wings).
Obviously Oklahoma offers immediate playing time, but all she typically has to say about Oklahoma is they’ve been recruiting her longest. She wants to win and that won’t likely happen there.
At Baylor, she will be stuck behind a 5-player recruiting class that is filled with top ranked recruits so maybe she doesn’t see the playing time is there.
At OSU, she will fall in love with the family atmosphere, commit on the spot, cancel her visit to tsdtr, and help lead us to Pac-12 and national titles before being drafted!
Maybe a little but of wishful thinking on the last point as we do have some 4s and 5s but she is a terrific player and everything will pan out fine!
