It seems that Kennedy Brown is the last 2019 that we are in the running for. As more and more 2019s list their finalists, I don’t see the Beavs. Rickea Jackson who we were recruiting had no Pac12s in her finalists (she did have Tennessee of course! and Louisville who is in practically 75% of 2019 finalists). Anyone know if there is anyone else? BHF? anyone?! Im not that worried as I think we will have a really special 2020 class

beaverwbb fan, I was just thinking about this the other day. I would actually be fine with Taylor being the only recruit this year. With Destiny and Aleah being around for 3 more years, and Jazz for four years, I don't see any reason for this to be a desperation year in looking at guards. Upfront you have three more years for Taya, and AA and PM have four to go, along with Taylor coming in. I don't think that means the Beavers won't sign a guard they think can help, and with AA and PM still unproven at this level a big would be nice. As you said, 2020 could be very special. There are a lot of girls on the Beaver list early, so let's hope they land a few of those.
As for this year, I don't have any idea how serious the Beavers are looking at a few of these girls, but there are a few the coaches are following. Just a few to be on the watch for are Nia Lowery a 5'11" W/G who one analyst listed among the Nations Best Sleepers. KB and BH are following her on twitter and she is following BH. I think she has offers from Washington and Arizona. I would need to double check on that. Aunjona James 5'9" guard (Prospects Nation #140) who is also talking to USC is being followed by Kb and BH and is following BH. As far as I know, Brea Beal is also still being recruited by the Beavs. We may want to also watch Adryana Quezada, who was on Team Lex with Kennedy. She was mentioned as one of 2019 rising stars by Jason Key, and has been described as "a jack of all trades type that gives opponents fits on both ends of the floor". She had a lot of scholarship offers to smaller schools, but her performance this summer has added others to the list. She is following Scott Rueck and Beavers WBB (among many other schools). I believe there are a couple girls from Australia that the Beavers are looking at as well. One poster mentioned one of them visiting soon, but I don't know who they were talking about, or if they were a 2019 girl. A couple names the Beavers follow are Meg Jefferson 6'3" and Eliza Hollingsworth who I believe is also 6' 3" and I think she is 2019. I'll check my notes to see if there were any others that I missed.

rmancarl - - lots of interesting info in your post... Didn't Coach B recently return from a European scouting/recruiting trip? Any news coming out of that trip??
I'm pretty much on board with your idea that if the Beavs are not able to sign a REALLY solid prospect for 2019, this would not be a bad year to settle for just one signee... Lots of Frosh & Sophs on the current roster - and good ones at that.... GO BEAVS !!

One Aussie - Jazmin Shelly is visiting, I believe soon, and will be a very handy guard who can shoot the 3, the other was Lucy Cochrane but I'm not sure if there is still interest or if she is even looking any more. There are a couple of very exciting players from Europe for 2019 being recruited but I don't have any personal info on them as yet, other than one is 6'3" and the other 6'5"

beavfan32 - thanks for the tip on Jazmine Shelley. Lots of easily available info on her game with a quick google search. She is a dandy. She captained the Australian U17 that beat the Americans in 2016 - and she was pretty much the star of the game... It will be interesting to see what happens with her - she obviously knows Simmons, who would have been her teammate on that 2016 team. It was the 1st team ever to defeat a USA U17 team (boys or girls)... I can't believe she wants to sign on with a team so loaded with young guards as the Beavs have on their current roster - but who knows... I didn't find any info on other offers she might have. Some interesting info on Jazmine Shelley located in this article..... www.bluestarmedia.org/australias-historic-win-team-usa-17s-raises-questions-selection-processGO BEAVS !!

Simmons was the captain of that team which also had Ezi Macbegor who was on our radar (although low, UCONN and UCLA were front runners, but she's gone pro). Shelly was the stand out against the US when she was only 16yrs and will play U19 worlds against the current U18 (USA) squad next year so we will see if she can replicate that amazing effort. She is one of the highest Aussie recruits for 2019, if not the highest. Google search found this websites.sportstg.com/team_info.cgi?action=PSTATS&pID=202943129&client=1-913-181283-476736-26134231

I just rewatched the USA - Australia semifinal last night! Shelley was tremendous in that game. She would be a really good addition to 2019! USA didn’t have an answer for her. Two Jazz Aussies!!!!

Some highlights of Lucy Cochrane. Gave Aquira DeCosta (a top player in 2018) fits all game on defense.
The 2019 class got a lot more exciting all of the sudden! Thx for all the info!!!!

Alex Kalmbach (who transferred after one season) and Marie G. I guess you could call that a miss and a hit.

So, it sounds like SR and company still want another tall player for 2019 even if they don't get Kennedy Brown. Well, 6'7" freshman Sedona Prince of Texas just broke her leg and will be out the entire 2018-19 season, so I guess a team can never have enough gals with height!

Brea Beal just tweeted that she will be announcing her top 5 this week. I know the Beavs have showed interest, and Brea's Dad does follow KB on twitter, but I haven't heard any talk that Brea is seriously considering the Beavs. I believe the next few days are no contact days with recruits, but I'm pretty sure girls can start visiting again this weekend.
For those of you who follow this closely, there has been a ton of girls either committing or narrowing their list the last couple weeks since July evauls, but not really hearing any Beaver chatter. You would expect there may be a visitor or two soon.

Seems like this will be similar to our recruiting of Rickea Jackson. Would it have been exciting if we were on her list of finalists? absolutely. Did anyone really expect us to be? Not really. I am not sure when Kennedy Brown will decide what 3 schools she will OV, but I know she has been at OSU and UO a few times. I would assume she is really picking between UO, OSU, UCLA, and Baylor. I read on Louisville’s board they are no longer recruiting her really. (Maybe Walz wasn’t impressed at the trials?). I don’t see her ending up at Oklahoma because it isn’t all that competitive. That being said I still hope Brea Beal does consider us, but I know she is being recruited by lots of big time schools (SouthCar, L’Ville, ND) so I don’t know her interest in the beavs, nor do I know how hard we were actually recruiting her.

Yeah, I saw Kennedy's mom retweet something from Cori Close, and my mind is like, "I sure hope Kennedy doesn't go to UCLA"!
As far as Louisville goes, they pretty much have their choice of just about anyone right now, but you can only sign so many, so I can see them cooling on Kennedy if they feel they are looking good otherwise.
