I was thinking of Hidalgo's scoring and ability to drive, but just remembered she averages a crazy number of steals. 4.6 per game. Can't think of any player doing something like that. Definitely will need to put a premium on taking care of the ball or she could eat them alive.

Overall, pretty poor showings from both teams, especially on the offensive ends. OSU’s defense proved to be the deciding factor in this one as Nebraska got very few easy looks and had trouble converting in general. OSU (Talia and Dom in particular) was very careless and lackadaisical with the basketball. Too many teams against a team that didn’t come at us with a ton of pressure. Won’t cut it against the athleticism of Ole Miss or Notre Dame. Nebraska was a really good draw for OSU. I like the Pac-12’s chances to get 5 or 6 teams in the Sweet 16. I’m very proud of what this OSU team has achieved this season and hopefully we’re not done yet. I would say OSU's defensive showing was great. As far as TVO and Dom being careless, I think Dom's issue is she's not only a freshman -- and susceptible to freshman mistakes -- but is also getting more minutes at this point in the season. So you're going to get somewhat of a mixed bag out of her, I would say what she adds to the Beavers on the court easily outweighs those mistakes. TVO gets too sloppy with her passes and it's almost always due to going for one-handed or no look or other fundamentally unsound stuff. She is a great passer and when she keeps both hands on the ball she is capable of making some great ones. I think she tends to get over her skis at times and adds a level of difficulty that is just not necessary. But she also had eight assists and was scoring today, so she was a big part of the win.

The only thing that counts now is the W in the column. Huge defensive game. Elite defensive performance. Held NU to their season low.

A win is a win, so you take it and move on...to the SWEET 16! Nice!
But, please don't even think about playing that poorly on offense against (likely) Notre Dame. They got away with that on their home floor, but that's not going to happen in Albany. Luckily, they have the better part of a week to prepare.
Go Beavs!

The only thing that counts now is the W in the column. Huge defensive game. Elite defensive performance. Held NU to their season low. With that level of defense, despite an almost FULL Quarter of zero offense by OSU (2nd Q 6:26 ...until... 3rd Q 6:57 = no points), all it took was three "3"s by three different Beavers early in the 4th Q to put the team in excellent position to win the game. For this fan those "3's" were especially great, after the frustration of 7 three point misses in the 3rd Q (and 1 made 3 three pointer that quarter). Nebraska finished the game at 20% from three....but was closer to 10% throughout the game until the final minutes, when the game was already out of reach for them.

First... I can't believe the NCAA allows same conference officials?! Why even give any opportunity for the opposition to have that grievance? Second, those on here that complain about Pac12 officials probably shouldn't today. Some very obvious non calls on violations and fouls benefited OSU. But, 19-6 hot run then "this" isn't new to this team. The D is solid but Nebraska is getting plenty of good looks. Luckily shooting very poorly so far. At this point you need to put good teams away. Nebraska almost learned that the hard way vs A&M. OSU needs to settle down. They got too fired up and lost focus. A ton of ball left and Nebraska has to be thrilled down only 7. Sometimes I think you are living in an alternate reality from the rest of us. In general I'd say the refs did a good enough job, but the Huskers were playing really physical inside against Beers and yet somehow didn't cause a foul inside until well into the 2nd half. But yeah,, the Beav's got away with smacking the Huskers around? According to you every team shoots poorly against the Beav's. They have the 4th best shooting defense in the country. Is that all just luck in how badly other teams shoot against them?

I must've missed several fouls on Beers. I didn't even know she had 3 before she got tagged with #4. Opposing coaches tell their players: when Beers moves near you flop. Boy did they ever... 2 of Beers 4 fouls were due to flops. Nebraska was flopping all over the floor throughout the game but weren't, thankfully, getting the calls. In the Utah game yesterday, #22 for the Utes (Jenna Johnson, flop artist extraordinaire) got 2 1st qtr "flop" fouls on the JackRabbits big. She flopped against Raegan 3 times in Utah and got 3 calls. She is the flop meister.

Mental image of the game. I hope someone got it on film but if not I'll just have to keep my memory. As soon as the final buzzer sounded the Beavers ran onto the court. TVO was looking around and as soon as she saw AJ she ran up to her and they shared a long and strong hug. Those two have been through so much together that it made the moment all that much more intense.
If it weren't for those two Beaver basketball would be so different today. They stayed when the mass exodus occurred and gave the program credibility.
Stat of the game. 21 assists on 22 baskets!

I was just about ready to send them a couple of mics I have laying around as a retired musician - glad to see it wasn't needed after they finally got it right.
I love the way TVO is not afraid to show her emotions - nothing but respect for her and her awesome court play.
