Any updated status on Raegan Beers for future playing this year? Perhaps she can play with a mask?

Yet she is both freshman of the week and player of the week 🙄 TVO got robbed! No robbery took place. Talia was legendary on Friday. She played hard but shot poorly on Sunday.

And of course "played hard but shot poorly on Sunday" also applies to JuJu.

Opposite of a team player. And yet, JuJu's "team" has their best record in what? 40+ seasons. And, swept OSU, one game with Beers held to 9/8.
I'm an SC alum and do not root for them, but to diss on Plum or Watkins as players is just stupid. They play a far different style that OSU, but it seems to be working for them. Plus in stages, as they should have, OSU was also a "one-woman" team in the second half as Timea took 13 of her 16 attempts in that half (13 of OSU's 29 total). Juju shot poorly but let the game come to her more the 2nd half. She only had 12 2nd half attempts (of 34 total vs 20 of 37 in the 1st) as she had teammates step up.
And, Juju had double digit open looks that just didn't go and as the announcers mention on the recording, looked tired. With how she plays and the minutes she has to have hit the Frosh wall.
The top 5 teams are all "nasty" and none are really a good matchup if playing well. USC is more scary to me as they swept shooting very poorly and play as stifling of defense as OSU

Timea brought her intensity and produced big numbers and in big situations against both UCLA and USC this past weekend. As others have noted on this message board, Timea's versatile skill set, physical toughness, and court presence may prove to be a difference-maker in getting the Beavs deeper into the NCAA tourney. Her game is maturing before our eyes.

As others have noted on this message board, Timea's versatile skill set, physical toughness, and court presence may prove to be a difference-maker in getting the Beavs deeper into the NCAA tourney. Her game is maturing before our eyes. The quandary is that Timea's outbursts came with no Beers. Some how SR needs to figure a way to get more of of Timea with Beers also producing. It just seems it has been one or the other... In conference play Beers is now 16.0 ppg, Timea 12.0 ppg, TVO 11.6 ppg is a nice trio but need a bunch of help with no one else in the Top 50 (6.6 ppg) in conference scoring. Other top teams with Top 50 scorers: Stanford... Iriafen 20 ppg, Brink 16.6 ppg, Jump 10 ppg USC... Juju 28 ppg, Forbes 13.6, Padilla 7.7 ppg. Marshall 7.0 ppg Colorado... Vonleh 14.1 ppg, Sherrod 13.0 ppg, Foreman 11.5 ppg. Miller 9.1 ppg UCLA... Osborne 15.3 ppg, Betts 14.0 ppg, Rice 11.8 ppg, Jones 11.6 ppg, Dugalic 8.8 ppg, Jaquez 7.9 ppg Utah... Pili 19.7 ppg, Johnson 11.0 ppg, McQueen 9.8 ppg, Wilke 9.7 ppg, Young 8.8 ppg, Vieira 8.6 ppg A lot of teams have some firepower, the defense will be the key the remainder of the season along with getting some key contributions from "others" each game.

I saw both weekend games in person. I think USC is by far the better team. Juju is certainly the star, but the other 4 with her on the court are completely filling their role. Defense, rebounding, put-backs. Juju doesn't guard the top opponent, does not bring the ball up the court, and does not even touch the ball until about 15 seconds into the possession. If she is open, the ball usually goes in. Very calm for a freshman. We did great defending her, as her FG% shows, but she draws so much attention that the rest of the team can get the offensive rebounds. And there were a lot of long range shots where the rebounds were over the heads of our bigs. Our wing players are not quick to the rebounds. And defending the USC penetrators, we are on the side, maybe go for a block. They shoot and just follow the shot all the way to the basket. We don't box them out after the shot. Since we really don't fast break I'm not sure why defensive rebounding isn't stressed more. Maybe Raegan just handles it?
UCLA has more talent overall. Betts was something special but I was shocked they didn't go to her more with Raegan out. If the game was played with two basketballs, UCLA wins every time.

For freshman OSU nominated Dominika Paurova.

Someone at Oregon State has been terribly slow about getting the box scores posted. Also, many teams are using a source (not sure which one) for their box scores this year, and there is a definite technical issue that comes with this service. I check team box scores more than anyone I know. The number of times I've gone to a box score and got a message saying the box score wasn't available has been numerous, and it's always with teams using the same supplier/source.

Yesterday's game, who knows. I didn't think the Beavs had much of a shot after expending their energy and emotions Friday night. If Raegan was healthy, I fully expected the Beavs to win the rest of the regular season games. We'll see how the Beavs finish out now. I think several games are in doubt without Raegan. If Raegan returns healthy, I'll pick the Beavs over USC in the Pac-12 tournament, acknowledging that both teams defense will give them both a shot to win.

You can get a box score immediately after the game by simply googling 'womens college basketball scores' and going to the ESPN site. Right next to the score there are 3 boxes, one of which is box score. They have it for all games - not as complete as the one in the lnk, but most everything.
