Tevita Pomee is a Beaver and coach Bray continues to bolster his defense. Pomee signed with Oregon last year as part of the 2023 class. He entered the portal one month ago. Tevita is 6 foot 3 and weighs 325 pounds. This is a big addition to OSU in more ways than one. Welcome to Beaver Nation Tevita!

Yeah, 13 offers out of HS. Certainly has the size to play nose. I'm excited about this one.

To his credit, in his goodbye message he did not say "I will always be a Duck".

Yeah, Bray and the staff are doing a great job in beefing up the defensive front, both in size and numbers. I know the team will lack experience as far as playing together but I'm getting really excited about this defense and how good it might be once they start to come together and build chemistry.

Teams like the Beavs have to wait for the dust to settle to start signing guys, but we appear to be pretty active. Next guy always a little easier than the previous guy too!

Cookis and Suiaunoa were the recruiters for him first time around. UO, AZ, Cal, CU, Jackson State, Nevada, OSU, SJSU, USC, Utah, Utah State, Vandy and UW. Looks like a high quality pickup

Got some good offers, USC, Washington, Arizona and Vanderbilt among others. No doubt the best part of this is stealing from little bro down south!

The best thing about the DL newbies it is far less about "chemistry" vs the OL. On the DL you can basically go get the football. Different schemes focus on different aspects... stem vs penetrate... gap control to keep LBs freed up... tons of stunts... etc. But, on the D front "alignment", "assignment", and "execution" is less about chemistry and more about winning one on battles, and getting OL hands off you. It is typically why defenses are further ahead of offenses where chemistry, timing, and lots of reps are super important. This D and the recruiting is looking more and more like a versatile bunch that maybe more of a "pro 4-3" with a back 7 that can run, cover, and hopefully tackle.

Seems they can be pretty picky about past affiliations with that program. But, of course... does it matter? He's a Beav and in the student directory

Not sure how our youngsters stack up, but experienced depth is a must.
Starting to look like we may actually field a team next year

So we traded a kicker for a very large DT. It's early but I say we won the trade.
