and it ain't over yet. Teams like the Beavs have to wait for the dust to settle to start signing guys, but we appear to be pretty active. Next guy always a little easier than the previous guy too! The best thing about the DL newbies it is far less about "chemistry" vs the OL. On the DL you can basically go get the football. Different schemes focus on different aspects... stem vs penetrate... gap control to keep LBs freed up... tons of stunts... etc. But, on the D front "alignment", "assignment", and "execution" is less about chemistry and more about winning one on battles, and getting OL hands off you. It is typically why defenses are further ahead of offenses where chemistry, timing, and lots of reps are super important. This D and the recruiting is looking more and more like a versatile bunch that maybe more of a "pro 4-3" with a back 7 that can run, cover, and hopefully tackle. Yes, this is absolutely true and a big reason why I'm very excited about the potential of the 2024 defense. I'm positive about the offense as well but much more reserved about the OL rebuild, which was going to be tough no matter what happened with the off the field stuff. Hoping they can find some good offensive tackles. Would be incredible if Gray decided to come back for a final season but everything I've seen points to the NFL for him. Fuaga is an almost sure first rounder and Bloomfield was huge in the run game. Not sure if Marco Brewer is pursuing a medical waiver or if he's even interested in continuing to play for the Beavers if he does get back on the field. He was on the Outland Trophy watch list going into the season, so it would be huge for OSU if he's healthy and does return.

Marco Brewer plans to return, according to what I heard from a family friend.

Oregon has loaded up on a bunch of 4- and 5-star DL the past couple of classes. He probably sees a better chance at playing at OSU.
