If Soulages is healthy, I wouldn't count him out as a starter. Or do they use him in a limited role and bring him along slowly? Big time potential, but years since he has been on the mound very much. Interesting practices coming up that will tell a lot.

I will make an attempt, by position: C Claunch 1B Ober 2B Harvey SS Armstrong 3B Gretler LF Casey CF Jones RF McMahan DH McGarry Starting rotation Chamberlain Phennigs Burns Mundt I am positive this will not be right, but you asked...It is a lineup that if they all play to the high end of last years individual performances with the natural progression and improvement from year to year could be a lot of fun to watch. Is Ober really going to stick at 1B? I think that he really has to work to be a serviceable defensive 1B. He was excellent in long relief as a freshman. He’s also a 4 pitch guy so he has enough other pitches to keep batters off his fastball.

I remember that there were points when we questioned his ability at first base. I can’t remember specific examples, but I suspect that with last year under his belt and some good coaching this year, he’ll be better at first. And his bat has definite potential.

I am still holding out hope that Drew Rasmussen is the next Matt Boyd. Unless Mully has greatly improved in the off-season, I do not believe that he is in that stratum. I am not saying he is going to reach the majors, just saying he will have a great senior year as a transformed Starter.

Per Twitter, Will Frisch hitting 98+ in practice. Looks like he is built much like Drew R.

Per Twitter, Will Frisch hitting 98+ in practice. Looks like he is built much like Drew R. Don't really car his mph... but his location and supplementary pitches. Besides, if he is having to toss big innings, he's likely to end up more like Drew than we'd like.

Ryan Ober dropping a foul ball against Cincinnati's nine-hitter in the sixth with two outs to have that guy score run number five in what was ultimately a one-run ballgame?

Per Twitter, Will Frisch hitting 98+ in practice. Looks like he is built much like Drew R. With everything that happened to Drew, hopefully, William is built a little better than Drew? Frisch has a slider and change to go with a 97-98 mph fastball. Bold prediction of the day: Unless Frisch gets hurt, he is going to go in the first six rounds of the draft in 2022.

Frisch is Hi-Octane gas with an 85 mph slider. Great tools and electric stuff.
However . . . . .young Will occasionally has streaks of wildness.
If the scouting reports are accurate, Dorman will zero in on consistent location with him.

Chamberlain, Frisch, Hjerbe and Lattery all pitched yesterday in a team scrimmage. All looked to have good stuff and Lattery surprised me most to the upside. Most of the veterans looked like they have picked it up a notch. Lots of incoming talent, will be tough to get down to 25 for sure. Both of the kids from Canada look good. Both Zachs looked good. Justin Boyd batted cleanup for one of the two teams and hit the ball hard. I have no idea who it was, but one of the newcomers really stood out in BP, lots of balls over the left field fence. Looked like a young Trevor Larnach from the right side. Something tells me we will find out next month during the two fall games who he is.

Thanks for the scrimmage game observations. My guess the Larnach-like right handed hitter was Joe McLaughlin.
