Well......we just spent the afternoon on the Willamette Queen which is a paddle boat on the river here in Salem. It was a private party but they also do dinner/river cruises so there is one suggestion. www.willamettequeen.net/

Coming from out of state? Depends greatly upon your interests. Lots of folks love Oregon for the natural beauty, so getting out of the car and hiking Multnomah Falls or a trip over to the coast is a great choice. We get lots of gloomy days around here, so we enjoy our alcoholic beverages to replace the sunshine. Oregon beers are very good and all over. The Willamette Valley between Salem and Corvallis is loaded with beautiful wineries. Portland has a few distilleries, too.

Stay away from Corvallis. Nothing to see there. 😉

Well, for starters, don't stay in Salem, the armpit of the state, lol.
Spend the majority of your time either in Corvallis or Portland......endless possibilities.

Salem is pretty walkable. The downtown has a bit of a pub crawl, it actually offers small town feel with good drinking quaffs, in the Willamette U area. Might be a western kinda thursday night thing to do since the weather is kicking into gear=perfect.

First of all, welcome to Oregon. While you're in Portland, definitely take a trip down the Columbia Gorge to see some waterfalls and nice views of the Columbia River. Plenty to do in Portland. Live music at a lot of places most nights, and a decent variety at that. If you've got the time, the Oregon coast is only about an hour away. Cannon Beach is well worth seeing. Have fun, and Go Beavs!

Try the wine tasting just across the river in McMinnville and Dundee. It’s a great time of year for that. Use the Wheatland ferry north of Salem for old school transportation. Silver Falls and Oregon Garden are beautiful now also.

In Portland could participate in Antifa and Proud boys riot, tour the homeless camps downtown or step over the hypodermic needles on the side walks. True or False most of us arent here to talk about that s%#t. Hint hint
