How do you expect fans to follow the program when you cannot even get them an audio feed of the team's games? this isn't working, Barnesworking for me. Are you still using a commodore 64?

I have streamed every audio feed so far, and it has always worked for the most part. A couple glitches here or there, but I actually think that is mostly caused on my side. Either cell phone going from wifi to mobile data and back while working in the yard or the 722309 layers of stupid "Cyber Security" software they have at my workplace... Anyway... the REAL travesty is..... JOHN WARREN Seriously, he is just awful at.... well.... sorry to be harsh, most things radio related I really like what I have heard from Josh Wordon, though! Both on the Joe Beaver show and in various HS game announcing. They need to get him doing these non-Mike Parker games! Native Corvallan, OSU graduate, Young, Clear voice, able to actually use a piece of technology to track stats, or is smart enough not to try to give a stat he isn't sure of....

I agreed with you about John Warren until i transcribed the action in the Missouri just so i could try to make sense of him. Actually the guy has a quick delivery and is able to supply a more detailed flow of the action than Parker. Yeah he says some things in between plays that are silly and when he tries to analyze the action he is really out of his depth. But just for relaying the action JW is decent in my opinion. Not railing on Parker (He is far superior in baseball to JW lets not go there) but he tends to get off in the weeds during the action and you are left trying to piece it together.

Meanwhile, I CAN HEAR BASKETBALL BEING PLAYED IN THE BACKGROUND! It would be one thing if he had to tablulate the stats himself while he annpounced things, but he doesn't I was following the live stats while listening... I knew EXACTLY how many rebounds Tinkle had!!! Warren gave out wrong stats MORE OFTEN than correct ones, smh... I would like to see Josh Wordens role expand. He took over for yet another technical difficulties Joe Beaver show today and did a great job interviewing already scheduled guests.

I'll say this - he's certainly bad, but doing the gig solo has got to be brutal- I know I'd be terrible. He could certainly use a spotter or helper or another voice to point out some rather obvious things that are happening. My other oddball JW observation is he seems to ALWAYS point out who falls down, how many people fell down, why or where someone fell down. Maybe it's all those years of doing bad high school basketball. Or maybe I'm the only one who notices this... just struck me funny last time I listened to him.

Let's hear some more bitching about a FREE service . . .
And, frankly, y'all need to get out more. I travel a bit, and I'll tell you that Warren compares favorably to the main announcers for a lot of schools - and he's our fill-in guy. His play-by-play is pretty good - he's just a lousy color guy. You are bitching about a guy that is basically doing this for the love of the game (do you have any idea how little local radio pays?), who isn't the regular guy, and is perfectly creditable - just not incredibly perfect.

Why can't we have high standards as beaver fans for anything that represents the school. And i will say again, the failure of the Athletic department to at least stream the action of all the men's basketball games is a disservice to the team and it's fans. And no flohoops and it's gypsy service doesn't count.

Unless a relative or friend is posting... Nope, still horrible, just more sensitive to the fact!

No. He's not "bad". He's as good as half the regular guys in college sports radio, and almost all of the fill-in guys.
And if you want something better . . . PAY FOR IT. Otherwise you are just being an whiny, entitled jerk.

Otherwise you are just being an whiny, entitled jerk. not sure what the IT is you want us to pay for it but if it is the audio stream produced by the Oregon State athletic department, those of us who are paying for tickets etc We already are. And if we dont deserve anything better, do you suppose Roseburg Forest Products, Umpqua Dairy etc don't deserve something better either? Like i said, i think JW is fine for basketball play by play on a fill in basis. He seemed to improve in the tournament. Long haul i dont know if he would ever turn into vin scully but he's fine for a fill in.

I'm pretty sure that your ticket entitles you to a seat at home games - and nothing more. Is there something written on your ticket stub that isn't on mine?
And the sponsors have already weighed in on this - and they are the only people who really matter here. If you know of a company that would sponsor our broadcasts if only it wasn't for Warren, by all means, let the AD know!
