JAKE HARVEY INF/OF 6'1" 170 B-R / T-R KENNEWICK, WA.-SOUTHRIDGE HS
Jake Harvey is the two-time “Area Player of the Year” in Washington's Columbia Basin. A two time Washington All State 3A selection that played for the Southridge high school Suns (enrollment of 1,700) in Kennewick, WA. The Suns won the Washington 3A state championship in 2018 after losing the championship game to Gig Harbor (and the Minnesota freshman that pitched against OSU in this years Super Regional) in 2017. In 2016, Southridge lost the state final to Kirkland-Lake Washington HS.
Harvey is a skilled infielder having played SS-3B and doing some big game pitching along the way. Some schools recruited him to play in the outfield feeling his athleticism, and skill set was an ideal fit in CF. Soft hands, a strong arm and impressive speed. Has a high baseball IQ and has natural leadership skill. Certainly the Beaver coaches will do considerable experimentation and position evaluation before casting anything in stone. Whatever the position outcome, you want his bat in the lineup – in successive years, Harvey hit .426, .516, 457, and 517. He’s been committed since 2016. Jake has played summer ball with the Kennewick/Southridge Bandits (American Legion travel team), and Baseball Northwest on the 16u and 17u Elite tournament teams. Jake graduated with a cumulative GPA of 3.39.
