Is Jack still the active coach? Wasn't the question whether or not it could be named after a living person? Not a current employee. Just to reset, I really don't care whether or not they name part of the complex after him while he's still coaching. And I can understand the rationale for waiting to bestow those honors until after his OSU career is concluded. But there is no doubt whatever that at some point Pat Casey's name will be attached to the OSU Baseball complex (in whole or in part) so why wait until he's an old codger?

Actually this was your original question: (to which I was responding)
"So do we wait until he retires...
..To rename Goss Stadium at Ralph Coleman Field to:"

Actually this was your original question: (to which I was responding) "So do we wait until he retires... ..To rename Goss Stadium at Ralph Coleman Field to:" It's just an open question. Whatever the rules were in the 50's and 60's it appears there is no current law that prohibits naming college sports facilities for living persons. Personally, I'd like to see it happen since as I mentioned, it's gonna happen eventually - so why wait. Casey himself might not feel comfortable with such memorialization while he's still focused on the future, so his opinion counts for something.

Agreed. I seriously doubt he’d welcome anything named “Casey” while he was still active.
Speaking of which, D1BB Just retweeted a link to a study done by something called athletic director U, that compares College BB head coaches salaries with other college coaching jobs.
Pat Casey comes out #1 in the nation in a sorta esoteric category. If you take the salaries (at a given University) of the Head Football Coach, WBB Coach, Baseball Coach, Men’s Basketball Coach and AD, Pat’s salary is 14.8% of the total of those 5 positions (at OSU). No other head College Baseball Coach reaches 14.8%...and only 7 college head baseball coaches reach the 10% level (LSU - Mainieri - is 2nd at 14.2%)
That being said, figures lie & liars figure....and...(some believe) stats are for losers.

I think the above figure is distorted by the relatively low level we're paying our head coach for football.
