..To rename Goss Stadium at Ralph Coleman Field to: Goss Stadium at Coleman-Casey Field?Pat, I'm sure, would prefer to defer any such accolades until after his retirement. But Gill Coliseum was known as Gill Coliseum long before Slats retired so there is some precedent.

Gill Coliseum may have been known as that before Gill retired, but it was never officially named that until after he died. How about "The Pat Casey Omaha Room."

Well, I was in school when he died on April 5, 1966, and I know that (at least at that time) a state building could not be named after a living person. But if your reference is to the NCAA, that seems like an unimpeachable source. I know that they would NEVER get anything wrong. The internet history showing that it was approved to be named for him on April 29, 1966 must be a hoax.

Personally, I hope they invent 'eternal life for incredible mentors', before any discussion of Casey retiring. I would also like to give a HUGE shoutout to Pat Bailey and Nate Yeskie. These three men are Chess level strategists and tacticians. The way the Beavers play baseball, yes they always have talent, is based on micro details and mental buy in that is incredibly successful because of the type of young men that are recruited to the program. This is the toughest sport in the world to be consistent at , and the Beavers have put together an elite approach that delivers elite outcomes. Go Beavers !

They named the floor at their basketball arena Pat Kilkenny court. If its legal for those guys to name their basketball floor after that POS, OSU could certainly name the field after Pat Casey - if they wanted to.

Seems like every part of the complex has a name attached to it. The field, press box, locker room, dugout, etc.
"The Pat Casey baseball complex" does have a nice ring(pun intended) to it.
At the very least, Pat should never have to buy a drink in Corvallis!
Go Beavs!!

Squonk. I'm not trying to go all baseba1111 on you. I was merely pointing out that the Coliseum was never named for Gill until after he retired. I did not say that the baseball complex should not have Casey's name on it before he retires, but I think it is unlikely that would ever happen while a coach is still active.

The Jack Riley concourse argues otherwise

Is Jack still the active coach? ahhh sh!t. Missed that point. I was thinking about the PK park argument from another poster. When we have the same thing right here in river city reading is fun da mental
