My sister lives in Monroe and has two grandsons and a granddaughter who play basketball for the high school teams. She and her husband are very involved with their support of the sports programs down there. Last night there was a fundraiser for the grade school (kindergarten thru 8th grade) in which the 8th grade boys played the 8th grade girls in a basketball game. This was an obvious mismatch and the girls had the advantage - Tres Tinkle. I wasn't there, but from what sis told me, the gym was packed and Tres made quite a positive impression. The kids were beside themselves. She said his interaction with them was exceptional.
I went to the girls state playoff game tonight against Bandon which they won by about 25 points. One of my great nephews sat by me during the game and all he could talk about was how he wanted to be like Tres Tinkle. Unfortunately the kid is only 5' 6" tall, but he's got a big heart and dreams of the NBA. And, he now loves OSU basketball. MB.

Awesome story! And Tres plays really hard every time he's on the court. Whatever the age of the opponents is

When Woody Hayes was asked why he chose to go for 2 late in a blow out game vs Michigan, his response was an all time classic. He replied "BECAUSE THE RULES WONT LET YOU GO FOR THREE!" Lol

Here is Grad97's daughter at Flat Tail - not just Tres but all the guys were more than happy to take time from their lunch to take a pic with a 'big' Beaver fan... Pretty proud of these guys and how they represent Oregon State!
