The subject line sums up tonight's game. Heimlich choked up a hairball and got a negative assist from an error. The bats in the belfry were MIA for us but given the quality of Razorback pitching, that was understandable. I've seen the same thing happen in other Beaver losses.
For the good: Our bullpen delivered K's. Considering how our aces have been cracked repeatedly at the CWS, the showing of the backups has been amazing.
Pressure from an elimination game is on us. We have been there. We know we can pull out of a stall. There may be a loss for us in the second game but I do not think we will give the game away with an eruption of bad plays. Righting the ship is the job of the skipper and Casey may not be at bat but he's still managing the team, so we are still in the hunt.

Hmmm....I wouldn't say it was a great game pitching by Ark....we had a number of chances with two calls that screwed us from scoring runs by the Umps. Hard to overcome a solid pitching when the umps are teaming up with the opponent. Need to overcome both it looks like but we've done it already this series......I presume that Nick will be leadoff hitter tomorrow given how Kwan looked....shouldn't have been in there to begin with but here's hoping our team shows up tomorrow.

Yep, they have a closer. 95m Heat and down and making high heat look good. Ace was good early but starting to tire and losing velo. Note, get gave up 7 hits and got the biggest break in the game. Hogs may have hit 1 ball really well to Right 3 fairly normal base hits. That team doesn't like any breaking stuff and many just looked silly. Not saying they are not good and might win but if we have someone throwing real junk for strikes I love our chances. We need a 5 or better run lead to keep the closer meaningless. Just saying... Go Beav's!

Unfortunately for you, Arkansas has TWO Caseys on our team, and one of them is starting game 2. The other - Casey Martin - is poised to have a breakout game after an 0-fer last night. (Side note - isn't it CRAZY that the top of the order on both sides - loaded with premier bats - did virtually NOTHING in the game last night?).
Our 2 Caseys > OSU Manager Casey.
Hogs win.

Our team tho, has proven that when it comes to the next game, they are pretty good at letting go and getting ready. Nick has probably already told them this morning that he is not ready to go home yet.
