Yes Glove. I'm a huge one. We just beat 11/12 Oklahoma 6-4 on a walk off 3 run homer and we are now 11-1 on the year. I follow them every year and we have some players and notably a freshman pitcher name Meehra Nelson.

Any idea on how we will do in conference play? What's our predicted finish? Good chance for the post-season?

I don't know where we are predicted to finish but in the pac 12 super conference I'm sure it's towards the bottom. That being said it's not uncommon for every school in the pac to make the tourney. The key to softball is having that stud pitcher and freshman Meehra Nelson leads the nation with 8 wins. We've beaten two ranked teams and barring injury and continued success the tourney should be no problem.

Just to add: it's important for us to pile up non-conference wins because the pac is so tough and we are doing a good job of that so far. I would love to be pleasantly surprised and finish in the top half but we'll see.

How can one pitcher have 8 wins out of 12 games played?

How can one pitcher have 8 wins out of 12 games played? It's softball, you can get wins in both ends of a DH. In winning the championship Florida's pitcher went 4-1 in 36 innings in the WS last year. Tennessee had pitcher win 189 games in her 4 years. There are dozens that have over 100 wins in their career. The motion can be taxing, but not as damaging to the arm. But, younger pitchers can develop shoulder and wrist issues very easily. Youth leagues have pitch limits.

Seems as if we have finally found a top-flight pitcher, something we've been missing since that great stretch of Byster, Hoffman and McGowan.
