Being the national favorite is a very rare thing at OSU, but now two years in a row, OSU Baseball is viewed as the favorite. Yes, Florida is getting the nod on some fronts, but the discussions around the country are have OSU being a popular favorite to win it all, especially with how they've been buzz-sawing through the regionals. Boyd had OSU as 1 in 5 odds of being the champion before the regionals started (top) and now 1 in 3 prior to the start of the supers (nearly 2x the odds of Florida in the next spot): www.boydsworld.com/data/superprobs2018.htmlOf course, none of this means anything on the field, it's just an odd feeling to be rooting for an OSU team/program that is the Goliath. We're the giant killers after all, not the giants! And it's also not like we have an amazing coach that took a bunch of decent players and made a great team. We have an excellent coach who as has an absolutely stacked roster. Three top 40 MLB draft picks (all bats) is ridiculous - we aren't getting there with a few amazing pitchers and some scrubs behind them, we're loaded everywhere. I've even noticed that OSU has become one of the 'boring' teams that seems to always be in Omaha on some forums, and hoping some new names get in (i.e. Minn, UW, etc). Really amazing what's happening with OSU baseball these days. Enjoy it, because it's something that is extremely rare anywhere.

Don't worry. Beavs are still the black sheep. The high grade caliber of your team doesn't mean it's not the outsider in a contest with Florida or some other east coast team.
Wonder what theme espn will go with today since there is no reason to run their trusty Luke graphic? Doesn't matter.
Just sit back and enjoy this team vaporizing anything or anyone blocking their way.

Don't kid yourself.....that contract the ESPN blowtorch has with the SEC is not imaginary. ESPN has, and will continue to promote any SEC team over the Beavs when they compete in any sport.
Beavs vs Florida for the CWS championship? Watch the 'Gators get 10x the airtime/publicity that's given to the Beavs. And when they do mention the Beavs, it'll be all Heimlich all the time.

Although I hate the "love fest" any broadcast has with one team or another. Friends said that last night we got all the "love' and it got so very old. Just broadcast the game, point out the strengths and weaknesses, the draft, etc. But, to harp on one team (even OSU) is tired and boring. OSU fans already know the info and it's insulting after a while, and fans of opposing teams just are insulted, casual fans don't care. It is a sporting event. Let the players play and not insult the fans by having to force feed info nonstop.
