2017 Beavs vs 2018 Beavs Pitching vs Hitting. I think you could play 100 games at it would be 50 to 50 I think 2018 Oregon State is better than the 2017 team that went to Omaha. The Beavers are 28-4-1 (.864) with Madrigal in the lineup this year and 20-6 (.769) without him.

With Heimlich last year we were a better team than this year. Don't get me wrong, we are great this year, but with Heimlich through the end of last year we would have been labeled best all time and I would have to agree

Thompson anchoring the Sunday it's not surprising that we're better last year than this year.

A couple of interesting stats (even though they are for losers):
On base percentage 2017 .385 2018 .416
Slugging percentage 2017 .406 2018 .492
HRs 2017 31 2018 59
RBIs 2017 343 2018 417
It's interesting to me that the team has nearly doubled its home run production. The years we won it all, our HR production was similar to last year.
My thinking is that this Beaver team would take the series against last year's team. Yes, our pitching numbers aren't what they were, our players are more mature, capable, and confident. Look at Fehmel this year compared to last year.
Of course, even if 2018 Beavs lost against the 2017 team, it'd still be a Beaver win!

2017 Beavs vs 2018 Beavs Pitching vs Hitting. I think you could play 100 games at it would be 50 to 50 Yeah, but wouldn't the hitters get tired having to bat in both the top and the bottom half of the inning? Not to mention all the fielding they would have to do. Yikes!

Here’s what I’d like to see. Beavs vs unc. Game 1 CWS. and kick their ass. Again. If Oregon State wins today, the Beavers first game in Omaha would indeed be against the Heels, probably one week from today. I believe that no teams have more College World Series final four appearances the past 12 years than North Carolina and Oregon State.
