She chose Utah. Justifiable choice given its her hometown. Can’t wait to take them down. Go beavs!

I can understand her choice, possibly the best for her. She gets to stay home where things are familiar. It would be different of if she chose either of the other two schools.
We will be fine. I try to remember Rueck's philosophy on recruiting, you are not going to get them all but you can get all out of the ones you get.

Well, I think she made a mistake, but she probably will see more playing time as a freshman and sophomore at Utah than at OSU.

I guess some players would just rather hang out on a team that has failed to finish above .500 (8 years and counting) in the Pac-12 conference since joining. Having parents, family, and friends living close by so they can watch your team struggle regularly, even at home, is a plus. Competing for Pac-12 championships and deep runs in the NCAA tournament is overrated.

While I would have loved for us to have gotten Kemery Martin, I will wish her well, appreciate her considering us, and look forward to our next recruit. Years of teaching in University, working in corporate America and just life in general have taught me that unless someone really wants to be part of your organization, they are going to be unhappy otherwise, can be a potential source of dissent, and they will not be as resilient in the face of adversity if there is always that little voice in their head saying "I could have gone to <insert name of other institution offering scholly/job/opportunity>". To ding her for wanting to have parents, family and friends nearby is to knock choices made by Aleah, Sam, Alyssa, and Katie on our own team over the years. She bought into the Utah vision, similar to how Jamie and Sydney (amongst others) bought into our vision when that was all we had to sell.
I hope she feels like she has made a good choice, one that aligns with her value system (whatever it is, not my place to critique it), and I look forward to our next recruit......
Go Beavers!

Well said 2gb. No reason to have ill will.toward a recruit that choose another school, unless it's tennessee or the *ucks, and maybe the puppies.
I wish her the best and hope that she is able to be a part of making Utah competitive in the Pac 12.

I wish her the best But I honestly don't give a rat's @ss about Utah becoming competitive in the Pac-12. Their coach has been HC at D1 level for 11 years and has yet to earn an NCAA bid. I hope Coach Roberts stays there for a long time.

Yes, I think Utah has got a little bit of a recruiting problem. I don’t mean they don’t get the girls they really want ... but that maybe the playing style and personnel always seems to be out of sync. Seems like they always have a passable center ( Potter)and one good forward - but, after that, they seem to lose sight of their physical and athletic requirements for the other girls on the floor. I liken it to OSU’s men’s team. We had a passable center and ONE good forward ( Tres ) another ‘group’ of guys that filled in at the other position. Holllins only came in towards the end. And, at the guard positions - we had 2 shooting guards and no point guards. Maybe Martin is a shot at fixing this.
