Weird to see a fan base just tear down a team their program just beat. Poorly coached? Do you realize Mainieri had LSU as a national seed for the last 6 years before this year? I’m sorry but that doesn’t happen if the coach is a poor coach. Yes mainieri can be hard on players and brutally honest at times. It doesn’t sit well with some players and they leave. You know another coach that is a “horse’s ass”? Nick Saban. (And no I’m not comparing mainieri to Saban) To be honest, I've never understood why fans would tear down a team they just beat either. Of course no mercy when it's your rival.
Weather LSU looked fundamentally unsound or not, they won a lot of games, and got into the regional. We beat them so the right thing to do IMO at this point is enjoy the win and say nice things about LSU because the truth is LSU fans are tearing them apart much more than we could anyhow. Why give those fans an excuse to direct that angry energy at us?
Tigers did just fine and will certainly be back. They just happened to get the unfortunate draw of the Beavs on the road who are just that good this year and happen to be catching fire at the right time on top of being that good.
There are some funny fans here... We lose its everything and everyone's fault except we just lost... the other team was just better that day. We win the other team sux, embarrassing, overrated. First... you'd think they'd want to praise the opponent somewhat. Doesn't that make your own team look better? OSU making a talented, well coached team look bad, confused, tired seems to have a better ring to it. Praise your own by praising them! Second... "Jimmys and Joes". Ahhh... the more talented and experienced team won. That team also had home field and didn't have to travel across the country. That very talented team also may have had some extra motivation. Sometimes it's just obvious that some have no real experience at higher levels of athletics. Fan or not, take a cue from your team and coaches... you respect every opponent... before and after each game. PS- I wonder if these same comments will apply to PC's coaching ability next year when the talent and experience level is greatly diminished?! LSU wasn't even a sure NCAA team... lost tons to the draft, gradation, injuries... made the field as a 2 seed and then had more injuries. What a terrible coach... you know the one that got beat 13-1 and still beat a 56-4 #1 national seed two in a row. That terrible coach.

Beaver Baseball performance over the last 10-12 years reminded me of a conversation I had about Tiger Woods some time ago (pre-injury - divorce etc). Tiger had just won another Major - and I was expressing my amazement at his feats. The guy I was talking with said "Yeah, he won, but the other guys just fell apart down the stretch". Intimating that it wasn't Tiger's ability - but the lack of same on the other players parts. The difference is (at least in his earlier career) was that he DIDNT falter down the stretch, while others did. He made the putts, scrambled to save par, didn't hit in the water. Same course, same weather etc. etc. Tiger was just better - more prepared and mentally tougher. Beaver baseball teams remind me of this in a way. Many of our PAC12 foes ( based on reading their message boards over the years) bemoan the Beaver's "Luck". IE: a ball hitting the bag resulting in a base hit as opposed to an out - or opposing pitchers walking in several runs. The big difference I see is that as a whole the Beavs pounce on mistakes made by other teams and even create these mistakes by keeping the pressure on at all times and battling at every at bat. The Beavs rarely make the big mistake and that all comes down to preparation, coaching, drive and talent. I love watching Casey's team. Bring it home boys!

its the details !! LSU is an embarrassment in regards to details of the game.
1) the inability to hold runners on. apparently a pickoff play in the SEC is to have the shortstop slap his glove. they allow such big leads at the bases that the outfielders have no chance tothrow runners out. Nobach would have been out at 3rd if the 2nd baseman was cutting his lead down.
2) Nick's bunt. the 2nd baseman never got in position to get to 1st base to cover even if the bunt was fielded cleanly.
3) pitcher dropped ball while trying to cover 1st. he took a terrible angle to the bag making it harder to adjust to the throw.
4) when their batters finally got Abel in the stretch and his control slipped a little, they chased some pitches out of the strike zone went they had favorable counts.
there's a old saying, "you play how you practice". during LSU's practice time on Thursday, instead of doing anything productive they split up teams and played home run derby for the whole time. as a side note, I know poeple who have spent time around coach Mainieri and he is a first rate horse's ass. little man's diseases . they reap was they sow Weird to see a fan base just tear down a team their program just beat. (And no I’m not comparing mainieri to Saban) It seems hard to believe that such an established, successful coach would have a poorly coached team, but I'll stick by my assessment I posted earlier. "Honestly, this year they reminded me of the *ucks. Sloppy, undisciplined, and not focused. Just my opinion."Whether it's the travel, fatigue, youth, injuries, all the above, etc. Not tearing them down at all. A truly great program typically. That's just how they looked, I'm sorry.

No apology needed... sometimes that happens... not a reflection of a coach's/ staff's abilities. IE- Utah, WSU, Zona

Weird to see a fan base just tear down a team their program just beat. Even weirder to see a fan base tear down an opponent's program that just KTA in every single facet of the game (bar none) ... twice in a row. Consider THAT fan base... we're better 😁

Someone has to supply a reason for everything - the only thing I am going to put out there is "was it luck that LSU could only score 1 run in 18 innings against the Beavs? A team might have tired arms, but hitters should never be too tired to hit. That's all.
