Why should anyone be surprised that OSU and UW advance and Stanford and UCLA are eliminated.
To make this analysis work, we have to agree that these were the four best teams in the conference this year. If you don't agree, quit reading as everything will be a waste of your time.
Take these four teams and place their head-to-head results in a mini-conference standing:
OSU: 6-3 (2-1 against each)
UW: 5-4 (1-2 vs OSU, 2-1 versus other two)
UCLA: 4-5 (2-1 vs Stanford, 1-2 versus other two)
Stan: 3-6 (1-2 versus the world)
Looks to me the cream rose to the top.
