Switched over to the MSU/OK game in Tallahassee and there were bugs everywhere and the pitcher was sweating so badly that he had to keep wiping his pants. Why would that be more attractive than playing in 60 degree weather?

I agree. We of course get great players I'm just surprised that others would want to play in that kind of weather vs. ours. And to your point, growing up here I couldn't imagine playing in the muggy buggy climate.

Grenier spoke a bit about that on his podcast interview w/MP. It was an adjustment coming from Henderson Nevada

The UW series here was snow/rained out on that Friday. Cold nasty weather. And lots of games played in the rain. We're fighting the weather for half of the season! It's kind of surprising to me that we can attract so many talented young men to this climate.

If you build it they will come. We have a solid strong character program that is coached by a staff of winners.

It's kind of surprising to me that we can attract so many talented young men to this climate. We were at a Tuesday game this year against Portland early in the season that was going to be cold but dry. I wore a heavy winter (orange) ll bean coat, warm ups over long underwear, and had fleece gloves but forgot to wear my mickey mouse boots. It was brutal. I had to find a place to stand and dance around for the second half the game. My fingers and feet went alternately numb numerous times. My phone said it was 37 degrees when we left the park after the game. I suppose the players stayed warmer by playing and horsing around in the dugout, but those nights are brutal for fans. All respect to the young men that come here to compete in that kind of weather not to mention rain sleet and snow.
