While I have confidence in Abel and the balance of our well rested pen, I don't see us holding LSU to less than 5 or 6. They squandered a couple of big early opportunities to hurt us yesterday and I believe it frustrated them. We win that game regardless, but we may have had to work for it a little more and they likely get into our pen a bit too.
I expect us to win a slugfest tonight, but we also need to make them throw a lot of pitches. Worst case scenario and it goes to Monday, they will have no arms left.
Keep in mind, I'm on Ambien. Lots of Ambien.

I trust you washed your ambien down with a good craft beer; something barrel aged preferably

But if tonight is about runs, let’s break out the PBR!

The LSU baserunners, early on, last night, were more or less gifts. Walks and 2xhbp. We were lucky to escape those innings. After that, it was all about our defense ( 3 difficult double play balls ), and some 2 out ( opportunistic) hitting , and LSU's miscues on defense. Personally, I see more of a tight game because both teams will have learned more about each other's tendencies and defensive alignment. Tougher to get the ball through the infield. At the same time, I can see us going to a 'put em on- move me over - drive em in strategy. This, as opposed to free swinging with each at bat. I want to see a lot of balls driven straight up the gut , into center field. Larnach, Madrigal, Kwan and Rutschman all looked loose and relaxed last nite. Hope the bats get going early and that Abel pitches the way he can.
