I know others will disagree, but I think that one can really see the great athletes by how they respond when they are NOT having a good day on the field. Heimlich started the game getting into a lot of jams and lsu could have easily had 4-5 runs by the end of two (if not more) if Heimlich had not kept his composure. Heimlich started with control problems and just was not his usual, sharp self. He could have easily melted down or even just had a slight loss of composure on a play or two. It could have all been chalked up to "it just wasn't his night..."
Instead, Heimlich fought threw the rough start and just kept plugging away. Bases loaded no outs? No problem, I can do this...I'm still shocked that he only gave up one run last night and still shocked that the one run that he gave up was not a "runners in scoring position, no outs" type of deal but instead just a relatively harmless solo jack.
Tough to watch for the first couple/few innings, but I came away even more impressed with Heimlich than I was before.

While I'm not sure it was "one of his best", learning how to win without your best stuff is the hallmark of a great pitcher.

Outlandishly good catches by Kwan, perfectly executed DPs, the Taylor tag out at first, Gretler lock down throw from third, and yes Luke fielding the bunt pop and doubling up the runner. Its hella defense baby!

Vintage Luke = Better than anybody else pitching in college baseball. Uncharacteristic Luke = Second best to Vintage Luke pitching in college baseball.
