Raoul recently released an interesting chart that highlights some of the top 2019 prospects and the schools that seem to have the upper hand in signing them.... The Beavs are mentioned as being in the mix for only one prospect - - Kennedy Brown.... The prospect from Detroit (how quickly I forget!) does not include the Beavs in her list. As Raoul points out, all of this information is UNofficial. At any rate, there is some interesting info here for the hardcore recruitniks..... wbbblog.com/2018/04/14/2019-class-finalists/

Looks like we are in the mix for presumably Kennedy Brown and Kemery Martin, along with Rickea Jackson who has gotten a lot of praise at the U17 trials this weekend.
We have been listed in a final list for Brown and Martin took an OV, but I have heard not a thing about Jackson and OSU, but she would certainly be the missing piece that could help us win a Natty.
Wish we were in the running for Haley Jones and Amihere

I have no idea if we have any shot at Rickea Jackson or not. I'm thinking it is a very, very long shot. That doesn't stop some of us from looking for a possible connection with OSU though. Her Mom does seem to be a woman of faith, so that may be one slight possitvie for OSU. Below are some comments from Steve Reynolds after watching Rickea at the USAB Under 17 trials. Just reading this makes me want to follow her career wherever she ends up.
2019 Rickea Jackson 6’3” SF Detroit Edison HS MI Rickea started off a little slow on the night but finished white-hot showing why she is considered by many to be one of the top players in the country. She had one of the most impressive scoring spurts of anyone during USAB Trials Session I. Jackson converted a layup off of a dump down pass that seemed to get her going. The next possession, she caught the ball in the short corner and made a midrange jumper off a deadly jab step. Then, she went coast-to-coast, after a strong rebound, to a pull-up jumper. At this point, you could feel the energy shift in the gym as players, parents, and media types all begin to shift in their seats. Rickea added a couple of blocks and a couple more baskets. Big time performance!
2019 Rickea Jackson 6’2” F MI - The Bucket Getter Rickea played with a hunger that made me uncomfortable, and I was 15 feet from the court most of the time that she was playing. She’s extremely athletic. Quick 2nd and 3rd jump, runs the floor like a deer and has good lateral movement that allowed her to get in help-side position for a few monster blocks. Jackson finishes very well around the basket and sports a really good midrange shot. What I think sets her apart is how deadly she is in transition. The higher level you go, you have to convert transition baskets because there won’t be a lot of opportunities. Rickea is going to finish, and you can take that to the bank.

Here's a link that shows who made each cut for the USA U17 world cup team. www.usab.com/womens/u17/roster.aspxYou will recognize a few names. Rickea, and Cameron Brink both made the final 18. I didn't see Kennedy Brown listed anywhere so perhaps she didn't make the first cut. There are a number of 2020 girls to keep an eye on in next years recruiting cycle.

As far as 2020, would be incredible if Rueck can convince Van Lith out of Washington to learn behind the best in the country at her position (Slocum) and get her to OSU. Might take a top PG to commit to UCONN before that happens. 2020 is stacked with PGs

Further recruiting info from Raoul regarding Ashten Prechtel a VERY hot prospect with length and athleticism....
"Ashten Prechtel, 6-5 F/C, Discovery Canyon HS (Colorado Springs, CO): announced her top three schools—UCLA, Stanford, and Texas. Stanford is looking to add a third Colorado player to its recent recruiting haul, after securing commitments from Fran Belibi and Jana Van Gytenbeek."
I'm not sure how invested OSU was in her recruitment, but to me everything about her screamed "OSU"........
I'm not in the loop on OSU recruiting but I would guess that by the end of June we'll be hearing more about specific targets.... I presume Kemery Martin will work her way back into the Beaver recruiting picture in a few weeks.... And a long shot idea for everyone to think about: If there is a for real 6'5" 18-year-old German prospect out there the chances are very good that she knows all about Marie Gulich and the program that transformed her from a prospect into a star..... GO BEAVS !!

With Martin out of the picture, is Kennedy Brown the only other recruit heavily interested in the Beavs? Heard a little about Rickea Jackson, but not enough to be convinced. Hopefully we can add another guard/wing type of player in addition to Brown.

If we were to land Brown it would set us up nicely on the inside.
It would be nice to pick up another point guard or at least a combo guard.

Beavs are not part of Rickea Jackson’s too 7. Not too much of a surprise there
