Honestly, the biggest concern is a Gonzaga Super Regional matchup. I am less concerned about UCLA than about Gonzaga. Hopefully, Canisius wins, but I would rate Minnesota second as the team that I would most like to see. I respect your take but it's Gonzaga. Good team, but OS beats them 9 out of 10 times, especially in Goss. With this year's pitching, projecting Oregon State winning any more than 2 out of 3 times is quite the stretch. Some stats: Team Batting Average: 3. Oregon State .318
10. San Diego State .305
16. Minnesota .300
53. UCLA .28660. LSU .285
68. Canisius .283 136. Northwestern State .271 150. Gonzaga .269
Team ERA: 3. UCLA 2.94 6. Gonzaga 2.96 10. Minnesota 3.11 18. Northwestern State 3.33 23. Oregon State 3.45 64. San Diego State 3.90 99. Canisius 4.31 141. LSU 4.68
Team Fielding Percentage: 2. Gonzaga .985 4. UCLA .982 10. LSU .980 11. Oregon State .979 50. Minnesota .975 75. San Diego St. .973 137. Northwestern St. .970 184. Canisius .967
Gonzaga is a very well-coached, defensively sound, good pitching team that is used to playing in the Northwest. Both Gonzaga and UCLA are top 10 in ERA and Fielding Percentage, which says a lot about both teams. Both Gonzaga and UCLA have three quality starters. When Oregon State played in Surprise against Gonzaga, Gonzaga threw their Sunday starter, Mac Lardner. The result? Lardner went 6 2/3, allowing five hits and two runs. Both runs came on solo shots by Nick Madrigal and Zak Taylor. UCLA's Sunday starter also went 6 2/3, allowing seven hits and zero earned runs.
UCLA is the better-hitting team of the two. I think Gonzaga and UCLA are the 1A and 1B teams that I would least like to see out of the Minneapolis Regional. I think UCLA has a better shot of winning the Minneapolis Regional. The Bruins are a much better road team than the Zags. Plus, UCLA already beat Minnesota in Minneapolis 6-1 in March.
I have a ton of respect for LSU, but I think that both Gonzaga and UCLA are better. If either come to a Corvallis Super Regional, Fehmel and Heimlich better be perfect, because game three would be a tough one to need to win.

SDS might just take care of LSU for us. OS over NW St. SDS over LSU. LSU over NW St. OS over SDS. SDS over LSU again. OS over SDS. Good luck with that one baw, especially if Ma'Khail Hilliard gets on the mound in game one Enough with this baw crap. Should we refer to you as hick, rube, hayseed, chum bait, nutria ranchers? I assume baw is a colloquial version of boy which I had never heard until I was in the service. There it was a put down aimed at people of color by southern rednecks. And yes, I was stationed in the south and overseas and heard it from your ilk everywhere. It demeans you, not anyone else by lowering yourself to this kind of discourse. Civility and respect is a virtue that may be elusive to "y'all" but you can attain it if you want.

UCLA would be tough, then again we DID just beat them 2 of 3 in Goss, and gave up ONE run in the first two games. But! For UCLA to be in Goss June 8-10 a whole lotta stuff has to happen first. First things first: Northwestern State FRIDAY 6/1

I'm hoping it's Bryce and then Luke for the rotation. That’s my thought. They’ve seen Bryce. Twice. they don’t know what they’re getting in Luke.

How about we chalk "baw" up to assumed familiarity and jocularity and not as a slight. Go Beavs.

This would be a huge gamble by Casey. But he's been known to experiment with the rotation n the post season. It is a huge gamble, and flies in the face of conventional wisdom of win and stay in WB. However, LSU is a tamer animal this year with starters capable of dominating , but inconsistent...and their pen is apparently thin and ineffective. Our patience and the fact that we have no soft spots 1-9 will allow us to ramp up the count and get to the pen in 6th or so. Would love to see LH and BF set up 2-3 to close this out. LSU is always going to be a good team, but youth and key injuries make this a less formidable match up. We are better . This is the college world series. All bets are off. Everyone begins the post season 0-0.

Everyone begins the post season 0-0. We have to approach this regional in a mindset that we need to go 3-0. We lose any of the first 3 games we are in big trouble. Therefore, I believe our best shot is to go up against the 4 with our iffy Sunday collection...assumimg that our best chance with that crew is against NE. St (or whatever they're called). Win first game, then take on LSU twice with LH and BF. If we know we have to win one game with J all staff, why not set that up against the weakest opponent?

Can you confirm anything?
