Ahelluva good series win against a good opponent. SHOULD insure a top eight seed......top four realistically. As Parker says, “playing with house money tomorrow.” Go BEAVS!!

but over the bag determines? It looked to me like it hit right on the line and then was arcing left past the third base bag. If it hits the line in front of the third base bag and then goes left it can't go over the bag. I thought it was a foul ball and I'll take the call even though in the end it didn't makeany difference. yeah, I think that is what happened. 3B umpire was mostly on it. the TV angle didn't really tell the story. I'll trust him...unless he was the jackass in the CWS on the outfield call

Over the bag is fair. No matter where it hits. HP calls the first 90. Defers to 3B after that. Hope 3B has his head out of it. Tough call for 3B. He is down the line foul territory. On this play, the guy lost his position. He was on the line when it hit him. Should have been live no matter. When the ball is fair past the infield, blue is like a rock, part of field. Ball is live. He called it foul. Blew it. Then made it worse.

Time to watch Stanford vs uw

I wonder if Yeskie/Casey thinks Abel is better 1 time through the lineup. So relief is better for him than starter Abel needs to get stronger in the legs before he can be a starter. When he gets some weight room he will be a formidable starter. When he is on, like he was in the 9th today, his curveball is every bit as good as that Stanford pitcher and his fastball is 94 and locate. He is the next really really good one.

Tigard, once the ball goes past the bag fair, it is fair and live. Hitting the umpire is only dead when it hits him before it goes past an infielder. If that is the case, then the batter is awarded first and those on base forced to advance, advance one base. Only happens very rarely in two man mechanics, never saw it happen in three man and should never happen in four as the four are outside the baselines. Two and three work inside with runners on. Outside with no one on.

Did we just find a lock down closer?
Now what do we do about our 3rd starter?

Did we just find a lock down closer? Now what do we do about our 3rd starter? A bit of a reach here, but maybe Johnny All-staff would work? Something like Mississippi St. employed to get past us and others on the way to the semis in Omaha a few years back? Not ideal, but maybe throwing several guys who are essentially relievers for 2 to 3 innings - like Abel was today? I am honestly wondering, because at this point that could mean no more than a couple of games on the way to an NC. I wouldn’t want to count on that strategy, but it would be interesting - quick hooks for anyone not sharp.

Our pitchers in the 2006 CWS championship series, game 3 Nickerson 6 2/3 Paterson Kunz 1/3 Buck (WP 13-3) 1 1/3 Gunderson (S 20) 2/3

Safe to say your 3rd starter is the previous lock down closer. Win/Win Mulholland getting a start? Nothing official, but we’ve just had two save situations, and Mulholland wasn’t on the mound for either game.

Mulholland getting a start? Nothing official, but we’ve just had two save situations, and Mulholland wasn’t on the mound for either game. when you put it that way - Bingo! Sure can’t kick at the way Eisert and Abel have come in and done the job. Nice too that one’s a lefty & the other right-handed. Also, Abel was warming up yesterday (late) in case the situation warranted.
