I read about something similar with Purdue. Batter walks, catcher can't find the ball. walker takes 2nd, then no one covering third so runner advances.
Now this from Ole Miss vs Ga

Why was he throwing home in the first place? Not even a force play. SEC at its finest.

Why was he throwing home in the first place? Not even a force play. SEC at its finest. Because he's a genetically superior SEC athelete...and he can. Or apparently can't. But he could if he wanted to. But let me tell ya, if he did, he would make the most perfect "I want a new ball" throw in the history of college baseball that no other pitcher from another conference, with maybe the exception of an ACC pitcher, could ever make.

And yet Ole Miss is expecting to be named a National Seed in a couple of days. Ole Miss has one non-conference loss all year, a one-run loss to Long Beach State in Long Beach. (Of course, when you only play 15 non-conference games................) You have to believe that Clemson and Florida State are sending that to everyone that they can to try and be gifted a National Seed.
