Gambrell isn't hurt...He just can't throw strikes. He never could. Gambrell's metrics were always bad. It seemed like he was getting very lucky. Recently, Gambrell's luck has run out.

Looks like last night settles it, Abel is by default the Sunday Guy. He has about 2 Games to figure it all out. A lot will ride on this young man if we are to make to Omaha. He sure has the Stuff, but the command and temperament is still up in the air. He keeps the Ball down, I love our chances.
Luke = Outstanding + BF = Can be Outstanding Abel = ? +

Sagebrush is now warming up for the Beavers. He might only hit 45, but he will throw strikes. I've heard his 28mph change-up elicits two swings from the batter! He can get guys to strike-out with only two pitches thrown their way
Go Beavs!!
remember when Bugs easy shot struck out that big burley dude with one pitch?

Impressed with Dakota Donavan. He kept the ball down, and threw strikes! He is going to get some more opportunities.

Impressed with Dakota Donavan. He kept the ball down, and threw strikes! He is going to get some more opportunities. i liked his composure (though the ever increasing Beaver margin created a reduced level of pressure). I can’t help but think that the Beaver starting pitcher today just hasn’t made the mental adjustment to D1 baseball. He came in with pretty good credentials, but the growth has been slow. I hope to heck that something clicks (maybe in summer ball) before next season, or the Beavs will have a somewhat fading Jr.-Sr. pitcher on their hands for 2 more seasons, re: S.T. That being said, I respect and wish well to all of the student athletes on the squad...they’re universally young men who are committed to the sport and trying their best - and just starting to move into adulthood (hint: think back to your own self at age 20). Go Beavs!
