Sports gambling can be a thing, determined by the state.
Thoughts? how does this affect the NCAA? Does it? Is there now suddenly even MORE money at stake?

Hmmm, not sure how I feel about it - just yet. Not keen on the idea of a team or individual not giving 100% and losing the competition so a pre arranged bet goes the way they want it.

Oh I guess I was thinking in the context of college athletics. Didn't say that earlier, my bad.

Just go watch Irving Fryar "try" to catch that ball in the 1984 Orange Bowl. SaveSave

It's probably happening right now, pro, college, and beyond. I heard a "expert" on that say that illegal gambling is far bigger than this will ever be. This will not attempt to draw in those types, but the casual fan who wants to bet. His claim is illegal gaming is far more organized, offers better "benefits"/off shore options, and lines than government run betting ever could. Hence, this ruling will create more gambling(?), but not on the scope of illegal or draw those "types" of influence peddling gamblers.

Sports Action take 2? Made a lot of money on Sports Action... Sports action was the bomb. So much fun to play that every Sunday. Way more realistic than fantasy football. All you had to do was pick three to beat the spread and you made some bank.

Had a barber who had parlay cards for his known customers. You paid up front and if you won, he paid out religiously. He retired early.
