We are rated #2 this morning. It looks to me like if we don't stub our toe in the next two days, and then win both the USC and UCLA series, we wind up #2 in those polls. Would it be unlikely for the committee to leave us out as a National seed no matter the RPI?

Would it be unlikely for the committee to leave us out as a National seed no matter the RPI? Would it be unlikely? Yes. But, could that happen to us even if we go 6-2 in these games? Yes. It shouldn’t but I have learned not to count on anything when it comes to selections and seedlings. Barring disastrous meltdowns (I.e. losing at least 3 games and 1 or both remaining series), both the Beavs and ‘furd, IMO, have done enough to secure national seeds. They are clearly the two best teams in the West, and stack up favorably against anyone on the national level.

Would that have so denigrated Stanford and the pac 12 in the national rankings that it could actually hurt OS? Especially if things don't go as well in the final weeks? Moot point now but interesting to ponder.
