it should be Bill Walton. Listening to him he is almost to the point of begging Oregon State to be good in basketball again, but beyond that, "Troutdale, where the Sandy River meets the Columbia" and 2 seconds later he is talking about Florence, Oregon. The guy lived here a few years and continues to know more about Oregon than the average Oregonian. OPB could use him on Field Guide. I don't know if any of you have seen the helicopter tour OBP produced from Astoria all the way south to the California border. Absolutely NO narration. They were so precise, if the helicopter's shadow got in the picture they went out and re filmed.

Agreed...I'll watch a game he's doing just for the entertainment factor. And knowing some about the Grateful Dead as I do, I can tell you he's mixing in lyrics from songs at different points too, going over he heads of his partner and prolly 99% of the viewers...it's great.

He won me over a few weeks back when he was talking about the kid from uo who "left Canada and chose Eugene because of his respect, admiration and love for Ken Kesey". Now that's a knowledgeable announcer. Him getting the other announcer special dirt from Temecula to cheer him up out of his funk helped too.

Hate listening to him, but he DOES know his Oregon. Earlier in the season he was talking about Condie McCullough's coast bridges. That is Oregon trivia there!

It's a love-hate relationship that I have with his stuff. If we are winning his words sound like poetry and if we are losing it's like fingernails on a blackboard.

Lousy observation on my part. OSU does have a good basketball team.
