1. Florida 2. Stanford 3. OSU Oregon State is in third but is closer to #9 Texas Tech than #2 Stanford. The Beavers cannot catch the Cardinal or Gators without a ton of help. Georgia and North Carolina started with basically a game-and-a-half lead over Oregon State in RPI. The Bulldogs and Heels both lost twice, which allowed the Beavers to pass them like they were standing still. Georgia fell a spot to fifth. North Carolina fell past Georgia into sixth. Arkansas won twice, but Oregon State playing Stanford has allowed the Beavers to pass the Razorbacks. Arkansas' two wins coupled with Georgia and North Carolina's two losses have allowed the Razorbacks to move up into fourth. Heading into tomorrow, Oregon State is basically a 1/2 game up over Arkansas, Georgia, and North Carolina. The Beavers will probably stay in third with a win. Otherwise, Arkansas, Georgia, and North Carolina can probably each pass Oregon State with a win.

and no later than tomorrow (and Tuesday) the Beavs welcome #126 RPI SAN DIEGO to Goss for a pair. SD just won a series in Portland (2-1) against #194 RPI UP Pilots.

For what it's worth, Beavs were already back to 6 before they lost with the other teams games....so the loss actually had zero ipmact

Explain this to me. Obviously I don't understand how the whole RPI is calculated but how does Stanford lose a series to a lower RPI team, get spanked in one of the games and still maintain their pre-series RPI? The Beavers take care of business in convincing fashion and no improvement in RPI. Huh?

Stanford had a huge lead in RPI over beavs so Beavs made ground on them but not enough to catch up in calculation. Stanford played tougher OOC than Beavs is basically the answer

Oregon State's RPI will drop with the games against San Diego. The Beavers should stay in sixth with a win, but would drop to about ninth with a loss, depending upon the other results.

Explain this to me. Obviously I don't understand how the whole RPI is calculated but how does Stanford lose a series to a lower RPI team, get spanked in one of the games and still maintain their pre-series RPI? The Beavers take care of business in convincing fashion and no improvement in RPI. Huh? A lot goes into RPI. First, there is the multiplier. Home wins are worth .7 and road wins are worth 1.3. Thus, Oregon State only finished with an RPI-adjusted-record of 1.4-1.3. Stanford finished with an RPI-adjusted-record of 1.3-1.4. Oregon State is 23-1 in non-conference. Stanford is 21-2 in non-conference. The Cardinal are #1 in non-conference RPI. The Beavers are #2. The other difference is that Stanford has played a more difficult conference schedule than Oregon State for RPI purposes. The Cardinal finish with the #5 Pac-12 team in RPI, Washington, and #10 Pac-12 team in RPI, Washington State. The Beavers finish with the #3 Pac-12 team in RPI, UCLA, and the #8 Pac-12 team in RPI, USC. Stanford has a better record than Oregon State. And their RPI-adjusted-record is even better. Currently, the Cardinal's schedule is also better RPI-wise thant he Beavers' schedule. If both teams have the same record over the final seven games, Oregon State should close on Stanford, because the Beavers finish with a more difficult seven games. Just eyeballing the numbers, Oregon State probably cannot pass Stanford in RPI without also winning the conference.

We just moved up to #5 on an off day, because North Carolina has been having an off week - they dropped to #6, like being behind us I guess

That whole RPI thing is a pile of crap. I understand it’s what the “committee “ will lean on.... like 1/2 of them have seen any college baseball this year. But it’s a pile of crap. If we’re not a top 8 , then nobody is. Pitching accepted. Florida gets a pass because they’re in sec and they start the gods.... singer and kowhar..... actually I’d say Stanford is better. And we beat them.
Beavs better win next 2 weeks, or they will get screwed. Again.

OS moved up, but the #9 RPI position drew closer to OS. On 5/16 OS had a .00058 'cushion' vs. #9, and now it's only a .00032 difference.
