I have a lot of respect for Aaron Fitt, college baseball reporter/evaluator for D1 Baseball. He lives in N. Carolina (I think), but is out here covering the Stanford series for D1. And I was really looking forward to reading his coverage about the series.
Unfortunately, his column which appears today at D1Baseball.com, is, for me, a huge disappointment. The article is, supposedly, about last night's (Friday) game. Well, sure enough, in the article he does discuss the game: About two paragraph's worth.... sandwiched in between long, rambling ruminations and redredging of the LH situation that was already beaten to death a year ago. Nothing new mind you, just more crappy, misleading, Oregonian/Canzano-like gossip and hand wringing. Good appeal for the salacious-minded, but nothing new or constructive.
I really thought Aaron was better than that. Silly me.

I agree. Nothing in their Friday night general recap so I expected a more thorough accounting of THE GAME in a separate article. No such luck.

Maybe someone should post a comment on his article linking the blackbug post in another thread or Martin Meyer's articles.
As related to me the articles were set to the Oregonian and NYT and yet to be printed in their entirety or in summary.
But, of course Mr Fitt may not be interested in anything that doesn't sell?!

I remember AF saying in one of the early season podcasts on their website that he would never support a team in the Beaver's situation, and well, he certainly is a man of his words.

Could you please link to that podcast because Aaron Fitt has always been one of the Beavers biggest supporters. I've listened to almost all of them this season and do not remember that one bit. And it is ok for people to have different opinions than any of us. Just because someone does, doesn't mean we have to come rip the person.

I agree, Aaron write an intelligent piece that heaped a ton of praise on the team effort he witnessed. We are indeed peaking at the right time. After Sunday we will be like Mitchy Slick used to sing: "Steady Omaha bound, from the top of the PAC-10."

He did link Eggars article too. I was a little disappointed too but he mentioned to me that he wrote because of the NY Times article. Saturday's Article was incredible. He is an East Coast person, but loves the Beavers!

He is an East Coast person, but loves the Beavers! When I see "NY Times article" I admit my initial reaction is based on the pre-social media era. Ten years ago a NYT print article meant the subject was significant and spread to a wide audience. Today, the NYT platform on social media produces massive amounts of content that is only distributed, in pieces, by algorithms, to narrow audiences. We probably all get every story on LH because of our repeated clicks on Oregon State stories. Best thing to do is not click the story unless you trust the journalist.
