And some links, mostly culled from earlier posts in that Texas hornsfan thread: premierbasketballreport.com/news/class-of-2019-texas-recap : "Taylor Jones (PBR Team Lex Platinum) is set for a summer comeback after one of the quickest ascensions we have seen in the last few years. Jones athletic ability and size make her an impact player at the next level" prospectsnation.com/story/summer-invite-delights-2017 : "Urban Heroes post Taylor Jones, currently ranked No. 13 in the class of 2019, also had dozens of coaches tracking her every move at Summer Invitational." prospectsnation.com/story/psb-power-48-blog : "Jones Solidifies Spot Nationally Going into this summer class of 2019 post Taylor Jones was largely considered to be one of the elite post prospects in her class. This summer, Johnson’s consistency scoring in the paint has kept her in the discussion as one of if not the best post in the 2019 class. The 6-foot-4 prospect is being tracked by programs throughout the country and is quickly becoming a household name nationally. – Keil Moore" A very solid recruit, obviously. Go beavers!

Some folks on other boards are wondering why yet another post player would choose OSU. While listed as a post, Taylor Jones is described as a "finesse 5" who plays facing the bucket. Sounds more like a 4 to me, so if she can knock down jumpers (mid-range or beyond) she should fit right in. OSU is/was thin at the 4 (given the struggles of MW and JT, who will be seniors by the time Taylor arrives anyway).
It would be more surprising if Kennedy Brown also picks OSU, as she sounds more like a traditional post. ((If she commits to and plays for OSU, PT as a freshman would be low and it could still be somewhat limited as a sophomore. However, she would definitely get a lot PT in her Junior and Senior years.))
It is an encouraging note that she robustly retweeted Taylor Jones's post where she commits to OSU.
Beavers need a point guard in the 2019 class just as much if not more than another 4-5 type player.

And then.and then...??
unh unh..
And then along came Jones Tall thin Jones Along came long, lean, lanky Jones
Here’s hoping she matches the on and off-court excellence of OSU’s recently graduated tall Texan - Mary Kate Marshall

They must be sisters! Loved this tweet re: Taylor Jones' commitment from her sister/teammate - "I guess all the years of you not passing me the ball finally paid off" (SR and the Beaver program do attract family oriented players).
Go Beavers!

I would love to see Kennedy Brown choose the Beavs as well. I just don't have a great feeling on this one. The good news though is that I thought Kemery would commit on her trip, and Taylor would not, so I'm wrong a lot.
A couple reasons to give hope for landing Kennedy, I like what she said about SR having a plan for her. I think it's a positive when a coach can convey that they have a clear plan for the players future. I think the relationship between Kennedy and Taylor is probably a positive as well. They are both members of Alexis Jones AAU team, so Taylor may have some chance to talk Kennedy into joining her at Oregon State. On the other hand, Kennedy was invited to try out for the USA Nationals U18 team. The bad news is Jeff Walz (Louisville) is the head coach, and Cori Close (UCLA) is an assistant, so both will have a good shot at Kennedy, and both are on her final 7 list. I'm super excited about landing Taylor though. It sounds like she is a hard worker and already has a ton of skills. I expect her to be a star at OSU.

Wow, what a coup...getting to coach the USA Nationals U18 team with free, unfettered, open ended, direct, and extensive access to the best players in the nation with the ability assess their talent and then recruit them to your own college team....all's fair in love and war I guess. (including getting a gig which gives a coach a huge advantage in big time college recruiting)
