UCLA is hard at work on the recruiting trail trying to replenish a roster that lost 3 top level seniors to graduation this year. They recently brought to campus two players ranked in the top 16 nation-wide, according to Hoop Gurlz.....
Jordon Horston (Columbus, Ohio) & Jaden Owens (Plano, Texas). Both are dynamite.
As well, Coach Close has 4 other Top 50 players to pursue from California who are not as yet verballed.... That's a lot of home state talent....
What does this have to do with The Beavs? Not much. I just posted for the helluva it on an otherwise slow Sunday morning....
And also to serve as a reminder that there are a LOT of talented players out there that PAC12 teams are trying to reel in....and to keep up with the competition the Beavs must get their share (or more).... Maybe some progress was made in that regard this weekend....

After a mid-range recruiting class in 2018, if Close doesn't bring in a Top 15 class this year she may not have enough raw talent to win enough games to keep UCLA Admin happy.
She has not demonstrated the ability to win big with the elite blue-chippers who just graduated, so it's hard to know how she can win big with less than stellar athletes.... She is not a bad coach but she certainly has not distinguished herself as a good coach. She works in the midst of some of the best h.s. players in America, and at one of the most recognized universities in the world, so it's not like UCLA is holding her back from greatness.
She's recruiting relentlessly because without elite players she has problems.....Employment problems.
