1772 (or was it 1762?) in attendance. Beats the previous season best, 1306 established Saturday against USC. I didn't know USC traveled that well.

Did anyone else think that Casey should have argued the runner was not in his lane on that error in the first? Dude ran down the line and was clearly inside the foul line the entire way. Rutsch had to reach into him to take the throw. Maybe it's only an out if the ball hits the runner? I thought it was at least worth a conversation. I know there are some umps out there who can tell me if Casey had an argument. SaveSaveIt would have been a hard argument, since the ball did get to Adley's glove first. It wasn't as if the runner got hit on the throw itself. That makes sense. I only saw it as they replayed it a couple of times and I thought he might have hit Adley's glove before the ball got there. It was close, but generally that call for running inside the foul line isn't made unless it's blatantly obvious. Heck, sometimes that call isn't made even when it is blatantly obvious. I thought it was at least an opportunity to ask the ump what he thought about it.

I thought it was at least an opportunity to ask the ump what he thought about it. Part of that play was Adley's fault. Adley needed to step more towards the pitchers mound to receive the throw. That would have gave him a better angle to receive the throw and would have prevented it from being knocked out of his glove. The runner would have had to go way out of the baseline to break up the play if Adley had done that.
