That article should sell 200 season tickets all by itself.... Got to admit, Coach R. makes it easy to be a Beaver Believer....
Minor point: How come no stats for PM's Senior season? (Only from her Jr. season).
GO BEAVS !!

Great article, thanks for sharing..... Well, after 8 seasons, we should be getting better at translating Scotty speak. Let me take a stab at it:
- Coach thinks he might have a Final 4 team on his hands as soon as next season. - PM must be pretty talented for her to remind him of Ruth Hamblin. And she is likely in good shape (i.e. will run the floor better than RH) given her lettering in swimming and tennis. Also means her footwork couldn't be bad. She is also a cerebral player. Add 6'7"+ to that...wow - AA will be starting nearly from day 1. She presents a mismatch most teams cannot cope with. - Would not be surprised if Jazz starts or gets major minutes (she is not a freshman by experience) - Taya and Aleah will become scary good as sophomores - Slocum being the best player on the floor this past season says something as well.
Sure glad I bought season tickets....
Go Beavers!

No mention of Maddie or Janessa? When that happened last year to Green she wasn't returning.

No mention of Maddie or Janessa? When that happened last year to Green she wasn't returning. MW is serviceable defensively and as a rebounder, but is a poor shooter/scorer and undersized at the 4 spot. JT was hampered by an injury, is a physical player, but not a good passer or scorer. Both got beaten out by a freshman (Taya). I hope they both significantly improve next year, as depth is needed at the 4, unless AA provides some help there.
P.S. Sorry to be way off topic. It is a very nice article...love the positive upbeat tone by SR...he da man!

Sure glad I bought season tickets.... Go Beavers! Just some thoughts of my own in respect to your points. We need to remember that Hamblin was a developmental player. That is what PM is, only with a much bigger upside than Hamblin because she is a better athlete. Being intelligent can translate to the court, but not necessarily always. PM certainly wasn't given any opportunity to display it on the team she played for. From what I have seen she has quick feet especially in her lateral movement. This makes sense because in retrospect she moved on the Basketball court like a tennis player would. Kind of a skip hop from side to side. Unfortunately her forward motion was not as crisp, since from the games I watched she did not attack shooters farther out in front of her by jumping towards them to block shots. This is very correctable because she does have light feet. A lot of potential, but still a great deal of work to direct that athleticism into basketball skill. When she gets it together her an Aquino will be a nightmare to play against. I think they might be able to play them on the floor together in a couple of years. They can play Aquino at the high post and PM at the low post or visa versa depending on how PM develops offensively. 411500-- It appears that Duarte did not list any box scores this year. Some teams do not do that ever. I did read in a news paper article about a early playoff Duarte was in that PM averaged around 11 pts a game this season. They had two guards that were the high scorers on the team. Any stats for high school, especially playing for teams like Duarte does not matter much anyway. It is obvious they did not involve her in the offense except for touches she got though rebounds or hustle plays. Just a correction on the Hollsinger quote in respect to Slocum. He said " there were times when she was the best player on the floor" . He did not say she was the best player on the floor . Still high praise though.
